I'm with gmavis. I bought a cheap pretty bathroom rug with rubber backing. Stays put nicely, holds the foot pedal where I need it with just a little creeping, and provides a soft cushion for my heal as I sew.

I actually have one of those pedal stay, (it was given to me) it is ok, but it still moves around! I think the best thing is the thing that goes under the rug

I heard somewhere that turning the foot pedal around back to front will keep it from wandering.

I just use one of those rubberised drawer liners which cost $2.

Great idea - I use that stuff under my sewing machine, keeps my machine in place and my notions (that I use next to my sewing machine) intact. Love it!

I haven't had any luck using carpet backing or anything else and I've tried a few. It looks to me like the pdeal-stay would slide around on a vinyl or tile floor. I'm ready to super glue my foot pedal to the floor. LOL

I tried using it with my pedal on carpet and had no luck. I threw it away and am using a piece of the rubbery stuff you put under throw rugs to stop them from slipping. Works like a charm.

I bought a rubber tread for stairs and cut it to size at the local home improvement store. My pedal never moves! Not sure about on carpet.

Yes, I have one. It works fine if you have carpet, but on other surfaces it could be better. I don't remember where I got mine. Just know that it was when I ordered fabric from some place. I don't enjoy chasing my foot pedal around either. I did try putting a piece of the rubber shelving under it. Helped some, but not the best.
