I have used one on carpet, wood, tile and plain old cement floor...doesn't work on any of them. Worst money I have spent on any sewing related item! I use a pedal sized piece of that wonderful memory foam and boy does it work GREAT. All the other suggestions above are good, as well.

Rebecca, I think I may have the same one for my Baby Lock serger, that pedal is small also; never tried it for my featherweight , hum...have to check that out. My Bernina foot always gets away from me, but I track it down... good exercise..LOL

I have a chair mat under the cabinet. Also bought a pedal stay. Put the velcro on the pedal and duck taped the whole shebang down. It ain't going nowhere. Nothing wants to stay put on a chair mat.

I have one of those Pedal Stays and it is okay but my preference is a piece of the waffly looking slightly sticky stuff you buy in a roll to put on shelves. It seems to "stick" to the floor better.

I use one, works good got tired of chasing the foot pedal around. Easy to switch the foot petal, when I switch to a different machine. May try dome of the other ideas given since it would be easy to roll up the rubber sheet when I take my machine for our quilting day get together.

Yes, I bought one years ago with a coupon from JoAnns. Unfortunately after a while, the glued area that holds the velcro like stuff on the mat started to slip and became all gummy. Yuck - threads, fabric snips and gooey stuff all mixed together.

I have one and really like it. I tried the mat that you can buy to put under your rugs and it was too light and got bunched up when I used it so I bought a pedal stay. I really think it was money well spent.

I keep a hard plastic chair mat under my chair and part of it under my sewing table. I got industrial strength stick on Velcro. I put a 1/2 inch piece on the left and right underside of my foot pedal. I picked a comfortable spot on the mat for my leg angle, and put the two matching pieces of Velcro there. Press the foot pedal in place and it's going nowhere!!
