Does anyone have extra paint chips they could send me? I will reimburse you postage. I need pink and green chips. Thank you.

Looking good, quilting addict. I'm with you on the colors. Not what I usually work with but I decided it's time to do something outside my comfort zone. Hopefully we can use our miscut strips later on. However, I couldn't resist a shopping trip today to supplement my color palette. I have about half of my units done but put them aside to work on another quilt that takes priority.

While you are waiting for your ruler to arrive make a trip to the drugstore and buy some clear surgical tape. Made a huge difference. No more slipping.

Here's some helpful info Bonnie had on facebook.

Here's something I want to reiterate again and again and again because I think it is an eye opener and helpful for newbies and oldbies alike.Do NOT measure just your seam. I don't care what your seam measures. It's not the seam that matters, it's the unit size. No seam is perfect if it isn't giving you the unit size that you need. Focus on the UNIT! If it is too small, scant your seam. If it is too big, fatten your seam. The allowance itself tells you NOTHING. The size of your unit does. The seam is just the vehicle that gives us the finished size unit we need, so concentrate on the measurement of your UNIT. Measuring your seam is of little use!
This is why, after you have sewn all of your units with Magic 8, or sewn big and sliver trimmed down, or sewn through thangles or other paper piecing methods to get PERFECT half square triangles....your units are STILL too small when you sew them together --it's all in the SEAM that gives you the right UNIT size. MEASURE the unit so you know how much to scant or widen.
Carry on, everyone! You are doing great!

I made good progress yesterday on my HSTs. Definitely going faster as I get used to using the ruler. I think this is a much better way to make HSTs. I've never had them looking so good, and no more tedious drawing of lines!

So am I to assume that everything will be based on/made from a 2.5" strip? I'm wondering if I should cut ALL of my yellow into strips? Thanks!

I sure wouldn't assume anything. That's why this is a mystery! I am only cutting as I need it to make the clue.
