I do all my cutting in my sewing room on my cutting table. We found an adjustable table at Costco for around $50 that measures 30" X 72". I have a cutting mat on it that is about 24" X 60" I think. I have no problem cutting there. No back problems. I can stand on either side of the table which is nice.

I have a old kitchen counter that is 5 1/2 long, it has 5 drawers and 3 doors so it has a lot of storage.
I love it, as it is a comfortable height.

I have four large storage tubs from Walmart (filled with my stash) that are stacked 2 deep with my big board ironing board across them. I put the cutting mat on that. It is a much better height than my bed - with boxes and the big board stacked on top. I was finally able to set that up this weekend.

I used to cut on my ironing board until I killed it.

I have a big board that I purchased and use it on my ironing board. You can make one pretty easily and I think there are discussions about that on here if you search. I would like to have a better set up with a dedicated table but don't have the space.

I bought an dining room table from a clearance center in a furniture store and put in on bed risers. My former LQS (old address) used conference tables on table risers (Bed, Bath sells wood or plastic ones).

I use my kitchen island. It's 34x50 and big enough for my biggest cutting mat. I don't have a rotating mat, but I can walk around the island and cut from any side, so it functions like one. We have plenty of other tables, but this works best for me -- and the lighting directly overhead is perfect.

I use my sewing table. It gives me good leverage. Can't do too much at a time either because of back problems.

We have a huge antique pool table, actually a "snooker" (whatever that is) table that I use. It always has the vinyl cover on it and I lay a cutting board and a cutting mat on it and it's absolutely perfect. Hubby swears I get more use out of it than he does. I just have to be extremely careful that I don't let my rotary cutter get off the cutting board.

I have a large Kitchen island 48 x 60, when I want to cut, I take my large cutting mat there to cut. It is wonderful for my back as the counter top is at 36 inches high and keeps me from bending over. I also have one of those gel mats there to stand on (Its almost worn out!).

When I am cutting a large amount of fabric, I use my dining room table, which is not quite tall enough for me. So I take breaks every 20 minutes or so, walking around, get a drink of water, etc. When trimming what I have sewn together,
I have a hope chest sitting by my sewing machine, that I can just turn and trim, while sitting. Yes cutting a big project while sitting is not a good idea
