My family recently spend several days in the Texas Hill Country. My mother rents a house there each summer and we all have a family time together. One grandson has outgrown his playpen, but he still sleeps in a toddler bed. For this trip my daughter just grabbed up that mattress - same size as a crib - and his bedding and brought it all. SO here's the same quilt as my avatar looking like it's very much used and part of this grandson's life. :P

This was the first quilt I completed when I really knew very little about what I was doing. I checked it over - made it a year ago - and it looks pretty good!

takes a licking, but keeps on ticking

other grandboy is climbing up for his next jump - looks like he's pouting, but .. just climbing

Isn't it a lovely feeling when you see a quilt so loved and used. I make "Huggles" my name for my quilts as I don't make heirlooms I make them to be used and hugged.

Love it! Huggles, indeed. This little guy is 3 - he tells me the monkeys on this quilt talk to him. Well, they also talk to the green dog named Roger who lives in a special room for dogs in his house, but mainly they talk to him.

I already have his next one ready to sandwich. His birthday is in February and I figure he'll be ready for a more big boy one by then.

That sure makes it fun... I know when I see that I have to go over and touch it and if possible I examine it for frays or anything coming out etc... love it.

Adorable grandchildren. Sounds like a fun time. It is so nice to see quilts used and loved instead of "put away for good".
