Question Ever heard of this one?

There's an ad on CL for a Vintage Rhythm Supreme Deluxe Pushmatic ZZ machine. I've never seen or heard of it.

Sounds like a badged Japanese machine with a lot of chrome.

I looked it up - is this the beast? http://charleston.craigslist.org/hsh/4375855458.html It looks like something that would be a lot of fun if everything works. Those knobs and buttons get stuck. The insides would be interesting to look at. It would for sure have to have been fully serviced to make me want to spend that much money on it though.

That does look like a fun one. If you like lots of chrome and buttons then that's a good one to have. Price is high on Miriam's machine but then I tend to be on the cheap side.

Hahaha, in college I had a Rambler with push button gear shifts. I'm not a fan of buttons!

Yup, it is the one. It does look interesting, but I bet it's a lot of work.

reminded me of my 1963 New Yorker. Those dang buttons sure took some getting use to as well as the parking lever--gave me a few hair raising moments. No more buttons for me either

UM levers can fall off, too - we used to have an ancient VW bus. It would either shift gears or fall out of the track. I had a real panic when the gear shift fell off when I crossed the RR tracks - it's a wonder it had a transmission. When you opened it and then went to shut it, the door either shut, jammed or fell off. It fell off in a thunder storm at 11pm one time. ARGH.
