You're right, that one is way too clean to part out. But then I have a real problem with basket cases when it comes to pretty much any type of machinery. My first reaction is "I can fix that." Logically though, it's the most complete machines that make the best parts machines too because they have all the harder to get items that are broken or missing on others.

Speaking of missing parts we have a really bad problem up here in the north state that just started about 6 months ago and is progressively worsening. It is to the point now that thrift stores and second hand shops tie or seal the machines and the tables up due to theft of parts. Some people are putting them behind the counters and you have to ask to see what they have. They are stealing everything from badges, bobbin cases, bobbins, thread guides, foot pedals, even the tension assemblies. So sad.

That happens to me, too. I get a machine for parts and it works just fine.

When I first started buying vintage in Sept 13' I thought parts machines would be easy to come up with but it is becoming obvious they are hard to find INTACT. Up here in far northern Ca. We have lots of gun people ( hubby and I included) that buy up machines for the hardware that will fit guns. The machines are going up in price too.

They're doing that here also. So sad. They go into the thrift stores. I told one of the clerks at the SA store near me that they need to keep the attachments bagged at the counter with anote on machine w/or w/o attachments.

Well, you are still probably ahead of the game what with part costs across the counter.

I had an orange 46 Willy's for a few years. I LOVED that Jeep!!
