Default Name that whatsit!

Ok,.. so I've been collecting these for a while.... I keep a little dish on my desk of "What the heck are these" parts that come with machines.

In picture number 1, we have a clamp that came with my puzzlebox. I'm 99.99944% sure that it doesn't belong. I can't think of what it would belong to though, even non-sewing machine applications.

the next foot, I thought was one of those protect your fingers thingies, but it doesn't work on the featherweight, it interferes with the full movement of the needlebar. Possible it's just for another machine? , but I'd be interested in knowing if anyone's seen one before.

Last foot, top row: came with a Singer low shank machine. Obviously doesn't belong. If anyone can identify the machine it belongs to and wants it, I will send it for the price of postage.

Second row: I believe these all came in a 128 Handcrank converted to electrical that I picked up a month or so ago. The hook doesn't look sheared, so that's all of it. The second piece is spring steel. The third piece,.. I got nothin. I have no ideas at all on on this one. The last two pieces are electrical leads, I believe, but the motor that came with this machine is a BA motor, it doesn't use those kind of leads. Garbage?

Third row: I would just like a general idea of where these might belong, motor, body, etc. The two nuts on the right will likely just go in the misc screws and nuts bin. The screw on the left is tiny, black and has a rounded top. I have a nagging feeling I should know what it is, but can't place it. The second one is a thumb nut, and it threads only at the top, the flat side, so the end of a screw would come through the narrow collar. I have a vague recollection of grabbing this one on purpose, but I can't recall where, or why.

Second picture, these all came with the 401A I acquired 2 weeks ago.
The yellow plastic whatsit has no identifiable part number on it, and obviously doesn't belong to a 401.
The black plastic says "Canada" on it, that's all. The clips, I thought might be for the 121795 buttonholer I found a lid for, but nothing else in the accessories box, but I disassembled mine and can't find those clips. The Silver piece I suspect is the biggest grommet I've ever seen.

So,... did I get any of them right?

The last foot on that top row looks like it comes from a White or other top clamping machine. The one in the middle of the top photo sort of reminds me of the blade on a serger but I don't know if the inside edge is sharpened.

The bottom picture, the grommet and round black thing go together-? Black piece to help do a grommet-? Just a thought~

I was thinking White as well. I've never had an old white here though to try it on. I had a Blue one that I found in the first house we bought, but that was before I sewed, so I gave it away to the relief society.

It does look like a little serger blade, but it's not sharp at all. I just tried screwing it on with the foot on the Brother I'm working on and learned 2 things. It wouldn't work with a swing needle, it crashes int the needle if the needle is in the left position, and the reason it didn't work on the FW is the same as the reason it wouldn't work on this machine. The needle clamp crashes into it, stopping you from being able to sew... so, I'm using it wrong, which means it's not what I thought it was....

I was thinking that too, except that hitting the grommet with a hammer would probably turn that plastic thingy to dust. The inner diameter of the grommet though is a little smaller than the inside of the hole in the top and bottom of the black plastic. So you could be onto something.

Sorry about the black and white, I'm on a different computer and it has a mind of its own today.

I can't imagine anyone trying to figure out why I have some of the doodads in my sewing case! Is the second thing in the bottom row of the top pic solid metal? Does it work with the grommet?

Hah! I'm sure people would wonder about mine too, but these things are sort of collateral damage. I'm in the middle of a multi-day cleaning frenzy, and I wanna know if I should be keeping them.

I have too many machines to manage, I asked for a bunch locally (so I could rehab them (for the practice) and try to donate them to places), and got them, so now it's cleanup time. If I can re-home some of this stuff with machines it belongs to, it cleans up for me as well as manages to get the parts back into use.

And,.. I'm more than a little OCD, and it's clutter.

The round thumb nut is about 2/3 the size of a dime and yes, solid metal. The grommet is approaching the size of a quarter...

This is really far fetched but I have seen that piece that you have in the black & white photo before. It appear to be a part of the tension on a 15-91. It fits in the back. An you have it upside down in the picture.

The black plastic piece, or the metal thingy I thought went on the presser bar... ?
*wanders off to investigate the 15-91.... *

The presser foot on the right will fit my White Rotary or my Leader - made by National. Both have the big nut that holds the presser foot in place. It looks to be the right size for the Leader which is a tiny machine. PM me if you need a home for it.

First picture, second row, center: Might that be a cam follower for a bobbin winder? The hole in it looks like it might take the pip end of a spring.

The two nuts on the bottom row also look like they might be off a bobbin winder. The only place on a sm that I know of with a square nut is the back of a bobbin winder, on the eccentric screw that holds the cam and cogged gear together.

The spring thing (first pic) might have come from a ruffler, or something like it.
