Default A pair of Peerless - buttonholers

I've been working on collecting antique buttonholers - and I recently found one for New Home, so now I've got a pair of these.

I'm still after one for White - which I believe is the model shown in the picture on the directions.

The Singer is on the left , New Home on the right - the main difference is the mounting block and the uptake lever

And that the New Home has a lot more words engraved on it LOL!! Singer probably didn't want Peerless advertising on the unit that fit their machines.

I like the looks of those, not so heavy, perhaps.

Those are pretty cool looking. How old are they?

the last patent date on them is 1887, SteveH may know more about their age. I don't know when Peerless stopped mfg - or what happened to the company, though I suppose they got bought and taken over by one of the others. Greist (after separating from Singer) ended up buying out a lot of the other attachment MFG but earlier on there were a lot of different ones.

it's rather interesting to compare attachments and seeing the differences. Early Singer tuckers looked just like the Greist ones, but after they separated, Singer came up with a unique Tucker that was nothing like the Greist style ones.
