This is the machine I've drooled over!! I want it so badly!! Why does it have to be so far away???

Did you want mocha or black? Look at his one... if I hadn't just brought two machines home, I would have definitely gone for this one. I love the cabinet!

Yikes! DH just said, "if you think you can handle it (meaning $$), go ahead and get that machine.

What do you think I should offer on it?

SewWishful, sorry you are so far away... that black 301 and the cabinet are so beautiful. DH's thoughts were the same as mine... being, too bad I already spent my $$! Hope someone gets it that really appreciates it. :D

QuilterGary: cool that you have that cabinet. Do you have it posted in the shop?

I weighed mine this morning, she weighs 30.5 lbs in the case, so no she's not light by any stretch, but my Singer 15-91 and Neechi are both around 36 lbs each so it is all relative.

DH insisted that we needed to pull the motor - too much friction. Well, it was not enough space or the belt too big around. Does anybody know anything about belt sizes? Are there smaller diameter belts and larger diameter belts? This belt goes in a very narrow spot. Right now it slips and slides until it comes to the staple then it hangs up - don't go through the top. In theory this should work. Any advice would be appreciated. DH says it has a 3/16 ths belt right now. Do they make a narrower belt?

Why pull the motor? Doesn't it sit down out of the way like my Singer 328k does. For some reason, I get the impression your 401G is more like my Singer 328. From the photos that you posted earlier of all your machines, it looks like the 401G is just belt drive.

Miriam, After doing some research, I think your husband is correct that the motor needs to come out. If you have the 411G, then you can treadle with motor in, but if it is the 401G then from what I have read the motor needs to be removed. And then you are good to go.

Thanks, Marie! If you let me know the source, I'll buy one too!!

Marie, that is the cutest little green machine! Is it a 3/4 size or full size? I know you said it is heavy, but it still looks small! Love the checkered case too!
