It isn't right either,it sticks when re-assembling and thread is totally stuck in it when attempting to thread the tensioner is too tight and erratic when trying to select a tension. Do I need a new one? See photos
Thanks Jane Also, I was able to fix the tension on my 301 by following Dave McCallum's instructions in his FW book. Push the little numbered disc, on your tensioner, in and hold it. If you peek in there you will see that there are little holes all around the numbered disc. The little silver knob in front of it has a little thing sticking out of it that fits into one of those holes. You will need to turn the silver knob clockwise or counterclockwise to fix the tension. If you think that might be the problem I can give you a more detailed description of what to do, in a PM |

Billy, I need your help sir... or anyone elses, please. What machine is this... and which version? I think it's a 301-b, right, but with the short flip up piece. aka, it's not a 'chopper' lol. But it looks like the motor is inside the machine itself... What is this sucker worth? Will this one FMQ, drop dogs and sew great? Pictures, hopefully attached... Is it worth $150 or what? 301b? in corner cabinet open |

Nancy Are you able to get a lower price because of flaws in the machine/treadle/cabinet? If not that, then how? Nancy |

Yesterday, saw one in a store for $320 and will pay approx $135 for this. Dilemma: Do I tell DH about the Necchi that I want to buy also? HE WILL flip his lid and think I've lost it completely. What to do? Waht to do??? Happy about the bid.
Edit: I have lost it when it comes to vintage machines. Have my mom on the lookout for a FW also. I KNOW DH is a keeper. He will even go with me to help me look it over and then load it. Hoping the seller will help there b/c I geet stitches out tomorrow from carpal tunnel realignment surgery which will make lifting stuff [painful./ |
