more pics of the Domestic treadle: Notice in front of the machine in the first photo that there is a small square key with "domestic" on it, and there's another larger square key, which (if I'm correct) locks the drawers, which are in gorgeous condition. The sewing surface of the cabinet is dirty but otherwise all the veneer is intact except a few cracked areas along the edge that only go in about 1/2' at the worst spots. Upon close look you can see the raised outline of where decals should be, but I cant tell if they're there and just covered in grime or if there's just more dirt where they used to be. Not sure if I should try to find out since best I can find will date this machine to 1873. Also i think the front plate might be a replacement, as it is in pristine (as in looks brand spanking new) condition and the others show age. Theres a serial number on the machine itself 104239, but a different one on the front plate says 1032887.

You all remember my anniversary gift....the Köhler treadle. First the "before pics":

And these are what she looks like today. This girl has had a rough life. From the little research I've done, these are not a common machine in the States, she was made in Communist Post WW2 East Germany. She needed a little tension adjustment after I finished messing around, but is now sewing like she was made to. Very easy to treadle!! I think Liesl is going to be one of my favorites! The feed dogs drop, and she has a reverse! :)

Here is my improved columbian treadle. She was made in 1900. She needs some TLC but I love her, sorry the pics not the greatest.

Charlee, Wow! The cabinet is gorgeous! It looks sooo beautiful! You did a great job. I am going to tackle my first cabinet, and I am a total newbie at it. So, if you wouldn't mind details.

The wood design on the door is so beautiful!

Got my latest purchase today. 1940s Admiral made in Occupied Japan. I really only wanted it because I thought it would be a cool addition to my collection to have one that was labled as such. It's pretty clean, though dusty. The cover over the lightbulb wont stay on and the slide plate is missing but otherwise she's in excellent shape. The case is in kinda sorry shape but I didn't care much about that. I got it for 39 bucks off ebay. Local pickup so I didn't have to pay shipping.
