Joe, for the most part the letter after a model number does not indicate anything specific--other than the factory that it came out of. In this case, "M" for "Monza." So it's entirely possible the Monza factory also made aluminum 306s, which would still be badged as 306M's.

If you do a Google Image search for "Singer 306" you'll see what they look like. The body is the same as the 319, but without the "typewriter" keys at the back.

    Rain,

Caroline posted a picture of hers and jogged my mind. We have a 319K here and I just forgot how similar the two were.

    Careful with that shoulder.

My neck went crunch 4 or 5 days ago and my left shoulder and arm are alternately going numb or hurting like crazy. Makes sleeping a miserable joke.

you need to go somewhere and get a 'therapeutic' massage - it has helped me a LOT. I don't know if you have a school in your area or not - if you do - go and get the teacher to work you over. It might cost $75 or so to do it but it would be a good idea not to let it go.

All of them I've seen, and that we have, from the 319 up are aluminum.

    Hi Joe,
The Singer 237 is mostly cast iron except for a few plastic parts.
