I have too many Japanese zigzags. Colorful, gaudy, nice features, but I don't use them, and no one seems to want them as much as vintage Singers. I'll keep 1 or 2 but giving them away, or selling cheaply, or donating back to the thrift store.

For myself, it is the white Morse 4400 Fotomatic that was my epiphany. It's going to be sold for a very cheap price (only because I put time and a little money into it -- otherwise I'd donate it).

With 59 machines in our personal collection now (9 more in use at the shop), I have yet to find that sewing machine that was too many......yet.
As a matter of fact, we’re actively searching for a couple of models now, so I guess we’re still a ways from having too many.

I realized I had too many when I moved. Ugh! Then I set up my machine quilting frame at 10' and it has taken up too much room in my new studio (at what point does one stop calling their studio "new"?). I had hoped to be able to put my extra machines on several long tables to be able to be put to use easily. I really need to decide whether to dismantle the frame and just use the Pfaff 1200 on a table. Decisions, decisions!
By the way, I love how some of you guys give machines away (and one's you love too!!!) to others so they can sew or learn to sew. What a great way to share a craft that another can use for the rest of their lives both creatively and functionally. My heart was warmed by reading about that.

There is NO cure for my addiction, I don't want to be cured. Its fun to buy new machines. Oh I forgot to mention that I bought a Singer 327 today at Salvation Army store, its in perfect condition too, the green bobbin winder tire and cords are like new. However it caused a trip to the urgent care clinic for a slice & smashed right index finger. boo hiss

I feel a little better being somewhere in the middle - but I've only been buying for about ten months. It definitely is bad when my husband and I started counting and it went like this:
"Well, there are four in the living room..."
"No, there are five in living room. You forgot the one that we used for a TV stand."
"Did you count the two in the dining room?"
"I thought we only had one."
"no, there’s the kid one that doesn't work on the top shelf."
And so on, through every room...
I'm not sure we ever did get a final count, but it was somewhere around 15.
And Rodney keeps inspiring me with the cool dashboard ones and other beautiful, cool machines...so many more I want!
You all are a very bad influence - and I love it!!
