Default singer 328k skipping stitches

I got my great grandmother's 328k up and running after a new belt was delivered today. Some of you mentioned that this is a noisy machine but I'm not finding that to be true. It's slightly louder than my Baby Lock but it's not as loud as i expected and it's so smooth, i love it! I sewed a few lines to practice and make sure the tension was right. I was getting a little bit of looping in the back and adjusted the tension a tiny bit. After the 4th or 5th line i started getting missed stitches on the back. What could be causing this? Also what is this pressure adjustment? Is that the pressure from the presser foot? How do I know if i have that correct? Here is a picture of a missed stitch on the back of the fabric.

Here is a short video of her running. I'll call her "Estelle" after my great grandmother and my singer 66 I will call "Stella" which was her nickname. Believe it or not her full name was Estelle Belle Pospichil (pronounced pos-puh-shell) LOL http://youtu.be/exrl4ZIa26Q

P.S. I was using some felt remnants as in the picture above and when I switched to cotton fabric I'm not getting the missed stitches or looping on the back.

Sounds noisy to me. The skipped stitches were probably due to the wrong needle type for the fabric you're using, particularly if the problem went away when you changed fabric

They do sound like that - not too bad. I've heard worse. I have a Singer 27 that someone electrified. Now THAT is loud.

I guess i expected it to be like a banging, clanging kind of noisy but it's a smooth sounding even noise.

The machine sounds like it should, sounds perfect.
