Default Singer 15-91 Skipping stitches, any suggestions for a fix?

Recently, my 15-91 has been skipping stitches every 20 or so. It wasn't a huge problem but now it's just gone crazy. Sometimes it won't pull the bobbin thread up after I've re-threaded it. Any suggestions, I've done the usual clean, de-linting, oil and such.

Thanks.

I'd start by lowering the needle a hair. if that works then do the timing, if not change the needle. Then make sure the spring on the bobbin isn't broken, do you know where that spring breaks ? the little tab that goes in the hole, close to the finger

I'll definitely try lowering the needle and definitely will change it. I just realized how long it's been since i've done that. lol I'll check that little spring on the bobbin. I haven't ever noticed that bit before.

Thanks for the quick response I'll let ya know how it turns out.

Could be just the tiniest piece of thread in the bobbin area as well. It's amazing what those itty bitty little pieces of thread can do.

Have you tried a different bobbin? If there's a burr on the bobbin it will cause problems.

10X, NEVER LET A SEWING MACHINE KNOW YOU ARE IN A HURRY.

Before I ever change the timing I eliminate all other possibilities. Check to see if the needle is in the right way or is it threaded the right direction. You may have to look in your manual. One machine had a broken needle in the works. A spot of oil on the thread might make a machine skip.

Also, it's a model 15! Chance of either timing or needle height being out is extremely low.
