There were hundreds of thousands of featherweights made. They are showing up because people are looking for them. They show up as the original owners pass or move or stop sewing and they are given to family or sold at estate sales. They bring a pretty penny for someone who has no interest using one themselves.

Now this is funny!!! I saw an ad for a 401 on CL today. I have two, don't need another but it said for trade not a price on it. So, I e-mailed the seller to find out what they were looking for in trade and he answered back that he was wanting to trade it for a motorcycle. Good luck!!!
