Blinky,

Welcome to the group. These gals are super! Just knowing you're not alone out there plugging away at these little beasts is very comforting. Lacelady has posted pics of her completed quilt (& it's - WOW!)

I had started my DJ in 1997 & had just over 1/2 of the blocks finished. The center is now complete and I've got quite a few triangles done.

Happy stitching.
Thank you Kathy, you are kind. How about a pic of your blocks so far? It's always nice to see various combinations of colours etc., they are good for inspiration.

Well done Blinky, if you have decided to join us, it might just be the catalyst you need to get it done in this next year.

I will get a pic taken after work if the wind isn't blowing too hard or it's not raining and post it! DH bought me a free-stading 3.5 disc thing so I can get my pics off the disc, etc. Camera has a disc for storing the pics. I love the Sony camera, but it is a bit of a dinosaur in the technology world. ☺

Gotta go "quilt with convicts" in a few minutes. Today they sign their timesheets. It's the only day of the week I see all 200 of them.

Your job sound a bit scary and do you look after men or women? Kudos to you. Looking forward to seeing your blocks and seeing your colour. You should give each of the 200 one block to make and you could have your quilt made in super fast time LOL

I'm so glad more are joining us at whatever stages! I can't wait to see your pics Kathy.

Your work with the convicts does sound scary to me too. A friend of mine recently started working with convicts to help them get their GED's...that is scary to me too. Can you guess that I'm a chicken??/

I have a thread called "Inmate Quilting Program" on the Main menu. It's not scary! I've been there 8+ years. They are all MEN!

Inmates are, basically, people who made the wrong choice. Their judgement is skewed and leads them into doin things that may give them a thrill, but is also illegal. Their punishment is incarceration.

Elle, some of these guys piece better than I do & I've been quilting for ever! They have seen my blocks and just shake their heads at the tiny pieces. Our quilts piecees are 4" & 2" units.

Kathy, justread up your link, only the first page but I am going back to read the rest. I was really fascinated, and you have achieved so much. Great work on a job well done. I was going to offer supplies of some sort, donīt know what, but I see this is a profit making scheme and your are self sufficient.

The pictures of the quilts were awesome and when you said they made them from 4" and 2" squares my jaw dropped at the versatility and the wonderful patterns made.

You rock and so do those guys, kudos to them and to your ingenuity.
