I have completed my July block and as we are past the half way point I thought it was time I start getting some of the blocks quilted.. Here is a second picture of all the blocks in their various stages. The three on the bottom are ready to sash together. Im thinking Im going to put Feb's block the Kitty in this row also. Im not putting them in order of Month. Im seriously thinking of redoing January's block. Im just not loving it.. That is also my birthday month so Im thinking maybe to do a Birthday applique theme instead of the snowflake. I will have to think on it a bit more. Thanks for looking

Wow, Jenniky, your block for this month (and all the months) are beautiful! I am a fairly new quilter and didn't realize you could quilt the blocks as you go and then sash them together. That would make it so much easier, but I am not sure how to accomplish it!

Oh I so agree Jenniky, and this would make my quilting so much easier, but I also don't know how to do the sashing after the block has been quilted. Any tuts available?

I have seen some tutorials. This is actually my first attempt. I signed up for a internet class from Craftsy.com called Quilting Big Quilts on a small Machine. The instructions in the lesson were what helped make it more understandable. Also there are different methods.. of this type of QAYG. At least that is what I have determined from looking at all the different tutorials. I will post a picture after I put the first row together and you can see if you like the way it looks. Im not going to call it a tutorial because I dont feel comfortable with that..but I can post pictures of the process that Im following for this BOM quilt.

Wonderful Jenniky. I'll check Craftsy out but will wait to see you quilt. I'm leaving in two weeks for visit family, and my sister is the one who got me started quilting. And we'll go to quilt stores, so hopefully by the end of August. I'll have a good idea how to do it. Thanks.

As a newbie here, I loved seeing everyone's July blocks, so I thought I'd give it a go. So here's my contribution to the photo gallery:

Jenniky your July block is great and quilting it really makes it stand out! I have always wanted to try the QAYG method but have just delayed. I'll look forward to seeing your non-tutorial! lol

Labeelady, your block is terrific also! Great job everyone!

    Hugs,
    Cajun

Would you believe that was a remnant? I have no idea what the pattern is called, but it reminded me of fireworks exploding.
