Whitepine: I only save my bigger corners. On this one, I cut triangles and lined them up on the corners and left the backing fabric. The two fabrics weren't bulky so I could leave them. When I made the 4 extra blocks, I actually oversized my triangles and trimmed them with a Deb Tucker ruler. They trimmed down to the correct size so nicely since they were a little bigger than my previous method. I love learning new techniques.

blocks are done
Judy, I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for this pattern. I know I would not have tried this pattern on my own. but I really like how it came out. blocks are done but not sewn together. And of course I have more 1/2 HST's to complete so I can finish it off with whitepine's border. Can't wait to get it all done.
