Katybob, your blocks look great. You're way ahead of me. I'm just starting week 10 and my sewing machine is on the whack again.

Katybob LOVE the floral C-8!
QuiltnNan - I'm sure you'll get it all set up soon, and it will be great.
I'm out of commission for a couple of weeks. Had to clear off the dining room table because I'm having company next week. So I won't be posting blocks for a couple of weeks, but am loving everyone else's! I'll get even further behind.

wow ladies!! it's been a few days since I've visited - knee is killing me!!! went to my ortho surgeon Thursday and he said he didnt think surgery would help @ first - wanted to give me some sort of injection. When I explained the intensity of the pain, he said he had a colleague who does a partial knee replacement! Really??? no in between - my cartilage is torn a little and flipflops around in the joint - clean it out! ....maybe not him. He obtained his MD before I entered kindergarten and you may remember I just turned 60. He may be afraid of doing surgery... so I made an appt for second opinion [dont want him touching me with a knife anyway]
Looking forward to an 'official break' - I've been on an unofficial one for a while now - hope all is well with the rest of you
Gus

Well, I am finally back with a few more blocks, but then I have to let this quilt sit on the back burner for awhile. Summer, work, and yard work are all getting in the way of my sewing, but I will keep plugging along. 2 of the blocks are for the week of May 20.
The first is C-13, and I didn't measure as well as I should have on each unit, so when I add the sashing, I know that I am going to lose the points, but, oh well, I will not remake it. My bad.

This one is C-11 and I just did this one in 2 pieces. The background piece and then cut the white piece as one unit and appliqued it on.

And then I skipped ahead 2 weeks and did block C-7, which has to be the hardest one to date, for doing the quilting with all the tiny diamonds. I wanted to get the first 3 rows put together, to show family at our reunion in a few weeks. Since I am behind anyway, I don't think the quilt police will come after me. lol

Also, I want to work with some of the top row triangles, to see if I can actually get them to go together right, before I make any more of them. I don't have the tri template, so this could be a challenge. I will let you know how it goes.
Keep up the good work, everyone. I never get tired of looking at all the great blocks that are being posted.

Hi Gus, nice to see you here and I am sorry to hear about your knee! I have suffered "knee pain" - even going up and down stairs -especially down, is such effort. I had surgery to "clean" it out and it did help - MUST do the exercises they give you post op to do though!
All the blocks are looking great - All these wonderful babies will look wonderful when finished.

Gus, so sorry you're having knee trouble. It certainly puts a damper on life and quilting.
Spartan Quilter - love your colors and the sparkly thread. I'm going to loose some points, too, but like you I am not remaking. Once all the blocks are together there will be so many it won't be noticeable. I especially love the 2 colors you put in C-13.
I'm in quilt withdrawal with all my things packed away waiting for visitors. But even my 16 yr old teenage son said it looks nice cleaned up, so . . . LOL.

Gus, sorry about your knee. I hope the next doc has better news for you.
Spartan - looking great. I love the way you did c-11. You might be able to use a printed out tri template... maybe print it on paper and attach some layers of freezer paper?

Spartan Quilter - I love your blocks. Great colors.
Gus, I will pray for your knees. I had terrible knee pain 30 years ago and I could barely walk. I prayed and my knees were healed. I am now 74 years old and have never had knee trouble since. Praise God.
