Well,I do work at a hospital, in fact a brand new one. We just moved in last august. I am not a nurse, God bless everyone of them, but I like to think that my job is almost as important. I feed them. Have always loved to cook, and will work till they kick me out. lol

everyone's blocks are just awsome. and the colors are beautiful. they show such talent in color coordination. i am just awful with matching colors. i always have to just pull one out of the other fabric when quilting. and hope for the best.
one of ll yr old grandson's used my completed jane to cover up with last nite. and i do believe he knew how special it was. i am still not completely done with mine. have not put a label on the back yet......

Does anyone know how Gus is doing after her knee surgery?
@SPARTAN QUILTER you must have a strong back and plenty of energy!

Hi Cindy!!!!
thanks for asking.... that God-awful sharp 'catching' pain I had inside my knee is totally gone!! YAY! I overdid a bit on Tuesday after surgery & early Wednesday and the swelling showed that was a no-no. Plus I guess the anesthesia wore off and I realized I wasn't quite so pain-free to be able to walk up and down the stairs once and walk to and from the dining room table a few times while the family was here. Surgery was over @2pm Tuesday and 24hr later I felt like everything inside the knee was putting pressure down and forward when I got up - a couple of the incisions were in front below the knee cap and that was where the pain was coming from. I then called a real close friend who has her own PT business and she told me my goal was to get that swelling down, do some ankle pumps and give the muscles around the knee a little rest til I saw my PT on Friday. They were amazed at what I was able to do - can't totally straighten out yet and the bend leaves a bit to be desired, but on the road to recovery I seriously need to lose some weight....DH was in the room right b4 surgery when I had to give my height/weight to the nurse. I don't know if he realized how bad it was - he is our resident ironman!! Heck - I have a degree in kinesiology as well and should know better nurse said I could whisper but I figured it might not be a bad thing to have him push me for my own good..... we will see ...soon
Anyway - I should check the schedule to see exactly how far behind I am. I may post a few blocks I hadn't posted later today when Steph brings her camera down.
Drooling over everyone else's blocks... haven't been able to sit at the machine or decide on fabrics for other DJ blocks. What I did do however was piece a whole row of y-seams on another quilt by hand. I will have to show a pic of that as well. It was a mystery quilt my mini-group worked on and I decided on a more challenging way to put mine together... love the way it is looking, but 'more challenging' is an understatement!
happy sewing!

Here's my Week 24 blocks. D-8 had me wondering why I'm making this quilt -- it wasn't fun . But then D-9 and RS11 got me in the mood again! The yellow RS11 isn't as wonky as it looks in the picture. It still has the paper attached to the back and needs to be pressed.

Thanks, Fraew and Gus. I'm actually thinking about stopping on the Civil War fabric one and making a lap quilt with the blocks. I've finished it through Row I and most of the triangles are done. I'm just not particularly fond of what seems to be mostly brown or dull fabric. I wish I'd researched a little before I started it and gotten the brighter fabric that's in the original DJ. And I'm itching to make a blue one, but I'm not making three at once!
