I did the 3 x 4 layout and did the stars in the center but not the sides as I didn't have enough of the yellow (shoulda, woulda, coulda. . .done scrappy yellow since it is scrappy, duh.) but now I want to make it bigger. So I will add borders, just haven't decided how and what yet. I had trouble figuring out how to press the sashing pieces with the star points and the 2 1/2 squares. How to nest them for ease of sewing together. Judy, I really liked doing this mystery and your clues were really good. (IF only I followed them correctly, ha ha) but did you give us clues on pressing that I missed for the sashing? My first mystery almost completed. Actually, I tried Bonnie Hunters (love her) Orca bay but but didn't even get the blocks finished, a UFO that will have to become something other. . . I have many of the pieces but they will NOT be Orca Bay. Even though I have seen many beautiful ones. I'm just saying, not for me.

Moonrise, I love what you did with your border. The Friendship Stars make the perfect border for this quilt. Will keep that in mind for my next quilt.
Everyone's quilts are all spectacular. This has really been a great mystery train ride.
This is my first mystery quilt and I am sew looking forward to the next one and many more to come.
Thanks a bunch, Judy.

I love looking at all of the fabulous variety of quilts that are being turned out! I'm making two, and they couldn't be more different. I should have the dark traditional looking one done tonight, then I start putting together the jewel toned blocks with scrappy lime green sashing. Will post pictures soon, I hope to have the second one done this weekend. Gotta get them done before the next train leaves the station!

Bluebonnets thank you for your kind comment. I am only slow because I have lupus, sjogren's, and fibro, which means I have extreme fatigue. Every time I get another step done it thrills me. lol... Everyone's quilts have turned out so pretty, and it's such fun seeing all the different ones. I have all the clues typed out on my computer so I can keep this one to use again in the future.

Ah, JuneBillie, sorry to hear that. You'll get there and your quilt will be just as pretty.
This is a wonderful block to play with and I am just loving how everyone is working with it. I love seeing how different color combinations make the quilts shine.

I love seeing all of these pretty finishes! I am away from home and struggling to get my sashing completed. Not enough room to lay everything out, so I arranged the blocks on the bed, took a picture, and promptly messed up the sashing placements when I started to sew....so this will really be scrappy, and hopefully all of the same color strips don't end up together....and if they do, ohwell! . I didn't bring enough fabric to finish the stars in the border, so I will have to finish this in a few weeks when I return home. Thanks judy, for this great mystery ride! It's my first, and won't be my last!

Love how they are coming out. A dear friend is sending me kitty fabric for my sashing. she said it's only right to have kitties in the fabric messing round. She is a dear quilting friend.
Susan, I noticed your new avatar. love it, so perfect for the season. gotta get my butt moving on the postcard too.
will work again on the triangles. I'm doing a double dose of the ride, so it's taking me forever. I hope it comes out nicely. I'm planning on giving this to Redgarnet for her diabetes fundraiser.

Susan, your 4 patches are coming along great. Well like I said I didn't have enough of the blue flower print to finish around the edge to make complete stars. Today I did finish sewing it together though. I think I will add a maybe 3" border around in one color or the same print pattern anyway. Then quilt it.
