Sandpat... if your favorite part is the quilting, any suggestions?? I dont mind actually doing it, but figuring out what to do is still very new to me. I finished my 'heritage quilt' top at the end of 2007, just a couple of weeks before my Mom died. It is so special to me that it has sat there for over 3 years... of course it was also waiting for the awesome fabric I found for the back. I had picked out a coordinating music piece - an allover orchestra fabric. My Dad was an opera composer, so music was very rich in our lives. But more so, he was a very charismatic man who lived every day reflecting his faith with an open ear and heart to everyone. Recently I found a fabric that has borders of musical instruments and sayings "raise your voice" "play your song" "listen with your heart" - this last one in particular Dad always used to say. He died shortly before my 15th birthday and after that Mom carried the saying on. So I guess I was waiting for this perfect fabric to sandwich this quilt together!! Now to the quilting... again ... suggestions??Originally Posted by sandpat

Beautiful quilts, I absolutely love them. If I had a favourite I think the one with the houses that is so pretty-

I recently got some A3 plastic sheets - they are sold here in office supply stores as covers for the books that they bind with spiral thingies. (sorry about the technical term). I have bound the edges with tape so I can see the edges when I lay them on a quilt, and I bought a dry wall pen that I can draw on them to audition a design, then wipe it off with tissue if I don't like it. It works well on a light quilt, but wasn't so good on my black background AOTH (I was trying to use a blue pen).Originally Posted by Cre8tvlwyr

I started quilting yesterday and was getting on really well this morning until I broke a needle this afternoon, and something doesn't seem quite right. Now I am having to wait until the morning to ring my supplier for some advice. (nasty, sinking feeling in my stomach tonight). Thankfully it's still under guarantee, but it would have to be shipped back to the UK - no dealers here.

Di you think there might be a piece of the needle in their??
I found the point from the first needle, not from the second one, but I don't think it's there, I took the needle place off and the hook seems to be hitting the needle when I turn the handwheel. I suppose it could be that it's supposed to do that, but I won't know til I ring them in the morning.Originally Posted by Butterflyspain
