I know I am a day early, but I won't be available to post tomorrow, so here it is. I chose the Churn Dash (12") because it is a great block to practice strip piecing and sharp points/corners. I liked the choice of piecing options and layout options provided by this site, as well. Way back in the day, this was the first block pattern I ever made, and I learned a lot from it... especially what NOT to do. Enjoy!!

Thanks Carla! I love the old traditional blocks. I'll get right on this. Always can use a refresher course on those points!

This is one of my favorite blocks. The purple churn dash was block of choice for an online group I was hostie for many years. Any time we went to a quilt show, we would wear our pcd as a name tag. Then if anyone from the online group was there, they could spot us right away! Maybe we should consider chosing a block for the same purpose. Should be something we can make into a smaller block for a name tag. I think mine was 4" and I wore on strap around my neck. Some shows I met people from the group, other shows I didn't, but it always drew enough attention that I would find myself talking to someone. One of my group says that is because I have never met a stranger. LOL

Boo, I think a block to identify ourselves at quilt shows is a great idea.
