You are right. The handle actually looked better before the blanket stitch, probably pulled my embroidery thread too tight. Your blocks are great. I can tell you are much more experienced.

My blocks 3 & 4. I'm doing this "true" scrappy by grabbing fabrics out of bags without looking. Surprised the Basket fabrics went together pretty well, but that blue and green on #4 was difficult to put together! Ew!

Here are my blocks three and four - to make the handle, I used some wonder under and ironed it on and then machine appliqued it.

I love the blue and green together.....this worked very well....and there are so many blocks in this quilt that the ones you aren't "sure of" will become part of the whole and you will be surprised at how well they all "play" together.

Both of there are very pretty....

Not necessarily...the basket handle on block three was the first time that I have every done non-fusible, hand stitched applique-and I thought I would hate doing it....BUT, I love it, and I am now giving serious thought to taking on a project that will feature hand stitched applique...who would have thought such a thing?

all of these blocks look so fabulous! I better get off the computer and get to sewing before I get any further behind.

Thanks! I'm certainly hoping they "play" well together in the end!

OMG!!! Tell me please there is no another basket to do!! I am really trying to PP but it is very challenging- not sure if it is me or the technique. By the time I finished it (used my seam ripper 3 times!) I coudn't think of applique the handle by hand. I ended up machine appliqueing it. I also think I should have use a different thread color but I am no doing it again!!
I have yet to do #4!
