Hello All!! I stopped getting all notifications from the quilting board and the last couple weeks have been busy starting a new direct sales biz so I apologize for not keeping in touch!!

Jeannie, the first border after the center is cut 1 1/2". Then then next 4 borders are cut 2 1/2"...I'll try to mention this number again when we are ready for it too.

Here is my center. I started cutting fabrics for the flying geese but was told by the doctor yesterday I needed to rest my wrist the next few days...so no sewing for me this week. I might at least try to finish cutting the fabrics...shhh don't tell!

Thanks Carrie - where did you find the information on the borders? Do you have a page # so I can try to find it on my digital book? Your center looks great. I only have one more seam to sew to get it finished. I always sew first with a large stitch in case I need to take it out on complicated areas, and so glad I did. Took it out last night, and will repin and try again today. There are so many small areas that need to match up.

I hope you wrist is better soon. Are you wearing a brace to give it support?

Jeanie, the border info is on page 262 under the "cutting list" heading.

Yes, I am wearing a wrist brace as well as a "tennis elbow" brace on my elbow to help support the tendon on the other end...thanks for asking!!

After doing this center, I think I should have used a darker gold color, it kind of blends in with the background. Also, do you think the blue border is too dark blue? It seems way to bright, or is it just me??? Help! At least it would be an easy fix!

I'm pretty new to quilting. Been at it maybe two months.

I'm now just starting to understand how things go together, so I wanted to start looking around the forum, and this is my first stop.

I Googled this quilt, and was astonished at how beautiful, and complex it is.

I've looked at the blocks posted in the thread, and all I can say is "WOW!!, Beautiful!!" Maybe some year I can try to do even the center part of this quilt. It looks like I need that long to gain experience.

I look forward to seeing the progress of everyone participating.

Welcome Caley, I hope you enjoy watching the journey as we progress on our quilt!

Midwestmom - That is looking awesome. I started cutting my geese out last night!
