I've taken notes on everyone's beautiful blocks and will comment in the morning oh wait it is morning. Finally got my substitute for CRose done. I found a 'wild rose' block and since that is Iowa's state flower thought it was perfect for my block-- Don't think I got by easy folks!! It has 42 pieces in it pieced from the center out. I flew by the seat of my pants when selecting the fabric for it.
First my sedate Cat's Paw and then the Wild Rose

Love the dainty cat's paw and the wild Iowa Rose. Love the road crews that allow the Iowa Wild Rose to grow and the "blue" flower as well.
Guess I just love flowers; everyone around here speaks of our place as the one with "flowers" on it...even people we don't know in the community. Roses are on the fence next to the YY highway, that bloom after the Lilacs bloom is gone. Marigolds, with the African big yellow flowering bloom, continue to bloom from early summer into the fall, along our driveway. Peonies and Irises are blooming now; usually they bloom at Memorial Day time and decorate the grave yards in Southern Iowa. A very different year this year, unlike any that any one can remember. Lilies are coming on, almost at the bud stage. Picture all of this outside our virtual RV, because it welcomes all of us. on the PC trail.

oksewglad---Great job on your blocks!
Where did you find the pattern for the "wild rose"?
I will be substituting some blocks and that may be one I choose to do...maybe...it looks like a challenging one!
Are the purples KT?? I haven't seen those..really like the one you used in both CP and WR.

Looks like you're back in the saddle again, OKSGlad!!! ..... though with the time of your posted, you have me worried that you'll fall out of that saddle .... kerplunk! What a great pair of blocks ... nice and pointy cat claws! and a stunning deep coloured rose.

Stretching and yawning with a hot cup of black coffee in hand, she settles into her comfy chair and turns on the computer...
Good morning everybody! My nightowl tendencies got the best of me last night. I wanted to get that Wild rose done and I kept going around and around and around. Didn't think I'd ever stop! It certainly didn't scan the fabric very well, did it. Thanks for the kind remarks. QNS, I wonder if those dainty little blooms will be early this year, too. Such a soft pink color they are.
Carrie I just did a search and couldn't find the source of the block, but it was a free one so will try to upload it for you. The center three purples are KT, then a Sandy Gervais I've had for a long time, and last two are Henry Glass. The one KT is from the Sand Hill Plums line--the other two are older fabrics.
Yeah QE, I was slipping from the saddle pretty good. RV bed was just a waiting after posting!

I've been this way all my life QE--bummer when you live the kind of life we have!! Just like my namesake--andf she told me it only gets worse with age!!
Carrie I tried to find the URL of the Wild Rose block but no luck so will upload it here. First the finished product than the PP.
I started with #2 as my gold center, then went around the center with a color, switched fabrics for round 2, etc until I came to the sixth round using 6 different purple fabrics in all. The block with seam allowances measures 8 1/4" so make sure you add enough final round fabric to get your block the correct size (8 1/2"). If this doesn't download for you maybe I can send an attachment via email. Good luck with it. I'm thinking this would make a really pretty block with yellows, pinks, reds, whites, or even a yellow rose with pink tips.
Oh and when I printed it it printed on 2 pages so had to overlap the centers. Maybe you could do some adjusting in page setup, but you want to make sure it stays at 8 1/2".
I want to thank everyone for their PP'ing hints. If I hadn't had them, I don't think I would've attempted this. It really wasn't that hard, but somewhat timeconsuming as my early morning attests to.
Think I'l just go select fabric for this week's blocks and call it a day--starting to droop here now.

I bet you were drooping! Here's hoping a good night's sleep revives you!
I was able to cut and paste the PP pattern over to Word ... and adjust the size to 8" for the finished block. Sometimes, I amaze myself with my geeky-ness. (says she who is far from being a geek-type!) Thanks for sharing OKSGlad ... one never knows just when this might appear!
