Here are my blocks for week 12. The mirror image reverse thinking stuff is getting a little easier and I keep pressing on because I do like the results of paper piecing. My cake is a yellow cake made from scratch. My ex-mother-in-law could make it from memory long after other things became confusing for her. A great cake...and the strips weren't straight but I thought they framed the prize cake well. Enjoy with a virtual cup of "joe" or maybe a favorite tea.

This Bom is The Farmer's Wife Pony Club Sampler group based on Laurie Aaron Herd's book of that name. Most of us did the Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt together, lead by Honchey...and she agreed to do this one as well. Anyone with the book can join our trail ride. The book is available through local quilt shops, Amazon, and other places.

Yes, we do have fun with this group on QB. Assignment is two blocks a week...but one does not always may the quota, and rides in drag until we catch up again.

Default Cake Stand

Hello! I am happy to share my cake stand...reminds me more of a flower basket, but that is ok.

I'm reaching for my virtual piece of cake!! mmmmmmmm!!!!!! (or is that two pieces of cake?)

GGal
... now that does look like cake and decorated all nice and fancy. What a great Christmas tree you've got with it's double fabrics to help it look so Christmasy!!

CarrieM ... looks like chocolate cake to me with those fancy sugar flowers on it! ITA that it looks more like a basket than a cake plate and I think that's why I had such a hard time picking the fabrics for this one.

QNSue ... More spring flowers! I always say that I "know" when spring really is here, when I see a dandelion blooming! So it looks like for sure you have spring, but not yet here, even though the spring bulbs are blooming, and lots of other growth.

QNS how did I miss your lovely flowers? There must be a screw loose facing this computer. They are lovely!. Well spring is here for sure. It was 91* taday. My Roses, Indian Hawthorne, & weeds are all blooming. Even my Bird of Paradise's have buds on 'em. Here's a pict of last years Bird of Paradise.

It's not the tropical one, but a native of the desert. An ugly bush with tiny leaves. But when it blooms....well look out!
