I didn't even know about the tropical one till I was grown!
DH didn't like these bushes so I planted the first one in the ally. After they started ta bloom he was surprised. They do seed very easily & we now have some in places that are in the way. I do have some in some of my flower beds. At least I know that these plants will survive this summer if we don't get any rain. (Worst drought in 90 ta a 100 yrs!)

gardnergal, your yellow cake is beautiful with very pretty fabric around it. I like your Christmas tree, nice contrast and points in both blocks!!!

carriem, I love your beautifully flowered cake, great job!!

dublb, that Bird of Paradise blossom is fabulous!!! I didn't know there was a desert variety. I grew the tropical variety in the house for years before it finally bloomed.

Thanks! Paper piecing is amazing for getting the pointy-points! It is definitely not something I will shy away from in the future. I really like it!!

Absolutely! That's how I became such a fan on it ... and to think a year ago, I absolutely hated, detested, abhorred PPing ... and more! Oh what I'd missed out on for all that time!
