You have been great friends this year listening to my tales of woe---my mother passing, my BFF with ovarian cancer (recovering at present) and my sick dog (not any better.) I want to share my happy news with you: I ordered an HQ Sweet 16 sit down quilter and it was just delivered!!! I'm so excited I had to tell all of you. I'm laughing because it took me 15 min to figure out how to get the box open--can't imagine how long it will take to learn the machine itself. I'm chomping at the bit (Pony Club speak) because DH is out of town and I can't even get it out of the box until he's home Sunday. I'm so happy!! Just had to share with my QB friends!!

Sharing the news both the good and the bad, that's what friendship is. Jan you have to keep us posted on the new HQ. Many of us are wishing it was being set up in our areas!!!!
Oh another busy week. Monday saw a presentation by Ann Zemke, author of Every Barn Tells a Story and a neighboring guild meeting. Then a SitNSew putting together 2 QOV on Tuesday. Wednesday a dental appointment and overnight guest--(SIL). Thursday--breakfast for SIL, a trip to town and errands, a trip in the other direction for errands, got half the lawn mowed, picturing of a couple of cows for advertising purposes, and then chores to help with. I slept in this morning!! Going to have a relaxing weekend as next week is gearing up to be just as busy.

Wonderful news JanRN. Hope you really enjoy your sweet 16 for me, too. Oksewglad, sounds busy to me, but at least, there are moments of fun. Both of you watch your mail.
Sigh!! Next week means I turn another year older...starting another decade...that figure of 7 0 makes me feel old. But I can still kick almost to the top of the refrigerator... if I wanted too.

I just wanted to post a quick reminder (which I will try to remember to do every couple of weeks) about the "PC Bonus Blocks". I have seen some of you say on the boards that you want to join us. That would be great! Please be sure to send me a private message with your name/email address so I can send out an email to everyone all at once with my mailing info and details for the "swap".
Here are the basics I posted a couple weeks ago with numbers updated:
We are making 8" blocks.
Not sure yet how many...I will send a final count hopefully by mid-November as we are finishing up the regular PC blocks. My guess is we will need between 10 and 12. (I have heard from 7, 8 counting me so far with info.)
What block design and fabrics is up to you. If you want to do something that will remind us of your location, of you, or of our PC "ride" that would be great. If you want to make all your blocks the same that is fine or if you want to make certain blocks for certain people, that is good too...just be sure to label individual blocks.
Thanks!
Carrie

Thanks, Barb, and Jeanie. My thoughts on bonus blocks came from a LQS, creme block, with a red outline of Missouri and a blue bird in the center...blue bird is Missouri's symbol which just might look better than the 'donkey'!!..or it might not. Still thinking about it.

QNS--happy birthday a little early. I hope that I can get half what you do done in a day when I am your age!!
Jan--for sure let us know what you think after getting some sewing time in on your new machine! I will be upgrading to a larger machine hopefully in the next year. I've been thinking about a Janome 6600...just because I already have a Janome and it has some features that would be nice.
