OK - Boy are ya sewing fast! Way to go!
Carrie - I too am thinking of doing QAYG for this quilt! It'll be my first king size & I really don't think I can FMQ it on my DSM.
QuiltE - Solar panels HMMMM I'm not sure I could pull that off. That sounds like something I would have figured! Great minds think alike.
At the retreat that I'm going to, we will all take what we want ta work on!

I was hesitant to post my blocks. I feel like they don't "fit in" with the theme of Pony Club. I love all your blocks and fabrics but I can't do those. I'm going to use fabric that I have in my stash and just make my own "nonPony Club" quilt. I hope you guys won't kick me off this wagon train. I really love all your cute and theme-appropriate blocks but I've been stressing over how to add some cuteness to mine. I confess that I haven't enjoyed making them and I quilt for enjoyment, not stress. So if it's okay with you all, I'll still tag along but I'll have to be your "city cousin"--I just can't do farm life. I love all your blocks---I hope I'm making sense and no one is offended. Please know I really, really love all your blocks. If there's no room for the city gal, I'm okay with that!! I'll still ooh and aah with you all.

OOPS ... I should have said it had something to do with quilting!
I take very few courses/classes as I find so many of them are nothing "new" to learn.
So I saw this one and thought, maybe I might?
For me, it's about technique exposure.
If I like it great. If I don't, at least I have a bit of a concept what it's about.
At this point, I have no idea the cost.
I did send an email asking for more info, so I'll let y'all know more when I know too.
JanRN ... are we going to have to use our lassos on you?
As for "all my energy" ... not so ... remember I don't have all the extra people and animals in my life, so have a little more time on my hands than most of the rest of you.

Well this little chick is doing a Happy Dance! (No I did not escape the clutches of evil MO puppy dog! I was safe here in Iowa. So sorry about the chickens and there's no salvaging the meat either after a raid either. )
Back to the Happy Dance, except for the HS on the Bird's Eye View center I am all caught up. Going to post 2 more soon and will post 2 more later and maybe the whole shebang before the night is over. Then I will be out of site for a while. Our annual "meet with the Banker" confessional comes up on Tuesday and I have lots to be prepare yet. So off to posting some pics, riders.

Mirabelle...I'm going to look for that fabric line. I just love it!
Carrie...I've done a couple QAYG but I'm still not satisfied with the back. I guess like most things, it takes practice. It sure does make the actual quilting easier.
Retreats...there is a workshop coming up at the end of this month and I'm choosing to drive back and forth this time. It's only 10 miles and I'll get a normal nights sleep although I will miss the good stuff that always happens after hours. I'm still new enought to quilting that I'm sure I will learn something.
Tornadoes again went south of us along the Ohio River. A couple of small towns were devastated. No words to describe what the damage looked like and there were fatalities too.

CarrieM and DublB ... Will there be any retreat specific projects? Or just take what you want to work on?
It is just a time for everyone to work on their own projects. The card swap is optional...I think we have 12-15 planning to do that on Saturday. We will just set up the card materials on separate tables and people can make them throughout the day when they feel like it.

QuiltE it might be what we call confetti quilting, don't know if anyone is doing that over there. Itsy bitsy tiny tiny pieces of fabric laid down to create a scene, usually from a photo then overlaid with netting and quilted. If it is not this then I have no idea he he he
MiraB ... yes that's what it looks like. The list of things to brings includes photos/pics. There's a link in post #41 with some of the teacher's work. OMG ... I feel intimidated just looking at it all.
GGal ... you go GGal!!! We can always pick up some tidbit of info (or six!). And then you can check for bags under the eyes for whomever is partnered up with the other lady this time, as you arrived fresh as a daisy!!
CarrieM and DublB ... we'll all be expecting a full Show and Tell after!

Finished another quilt---QAYG D9P
This is the quilt I was doing QAYG with this week. I just got the binding done tonight and now am washing. It is another D9P. It is either a large throw or a small twin.
I sew the rows together, sandwiching top/bat/back...when two rows are together I mark and quilt big X's through each block then add the last row and quilt those...I add one border at a time...see picture with backing showing to see the quilting a little better. Yes, the pink sashing and what was my center block before cutting has silver sparkles!

The other QAYG method I use
Here is the other quilt I was telling you about...I can find these directions after my retreat next week if anyone is interested...I just won't have time this week!
Carrie
pictures
#1 is one 24" block...I did SITD around the green fabric in the block only...I usually use a feather stitch for a more decorative look...plus it hides if the stitching isn't exactly straight!
#2 is 2 blocks together (the dark purple sashing is how I connected the blocks.
#3 is a close up of the QAYG on the front
#4 is the back (can you find it?) ...you actually iron the seam allowance in and then glue the back strip on then sew from the front...
