We got the deck primed. The deck only, not the rails. Then we went thrift shopping again w/DD, her DMIL, DGD & DFGD. We did have a good time. This evening, after supper, DD's family came out here, looked at deer then we all sat outside & talked. It is still a bit cool but it was nice to be able to be out there. I discovered, just before they came out here, that I got sunburned when I was painting in the morning. It's driving me a bit crazy right now. It itches. It'll most probably, hurt tomarrow.

Oh I forgot. When I came home from thrift shopping, DH was making a batch of Hummingbird nectar. He said that 3 or 4 hummers buzzed him & when that had no effect then one sat on a branch & stared at him in the eye. He got the message. Once the feeder was hung out there 3 or 4 hummers were already flying around out there, eating some nectar & fighting each other away.

We haven’t seen hummers yet here, Bev.
So, what did you find at the thrift shops? Inquiring minds want to know! (So do nosy ones.)

I bought DGSon a bed frame. It has a headboard, footboard & the rail so it is a full frame. We are gonna lightly sand it & re-stain it. It has some real nice woodwork & has claw feet. It was half price at Goodwill so I paid $25. I also got a nearly new 3X white shirt that is 100% cotton & is a lovely paisley white on white. I paid $4.00 for it. I think I can get nearly a yard of fabric outta it. I think I can coffee stain half of it for a lovely neutral. I also bought DGD a shirt, DFGD a lovely pict of the Eiffel tower & a shirt.

So fun to go thrift shopping with a friend! My friend Myrna in Idaho is an amazing thrift store shopper. She has an eye for really nice things. What fun we have when we are together.
My Dr. dismissed me from Home Health Care, and I will go back to my Physical Therapist next week. He said I am way ahead of the game with my walking.
I am getting anxious to get back to my quilting, but I think I will have to get up often and walk. Don't think sitting in one position with my knee would be too good for it.

I agree Jeanie. I wonder if ya could set up some things so that ya have to get up & move. Like move your ironing board further from ya. Get up & iron after each seam ya sew. I know it will take ya longer to get stuff done but it would be great therapy. As always, anytime I give advice ya are free to not follow.

Occasionally I sew standing up! Whenever I go to the serger to finish a seam on a garment, I serge standing up, because I just don't have a sit-down setup at that machine. My hubby made me wood blocks to put under the 4 legs of my dining table (where I sew) so that I can stand more upright when I have a lot of cutting to do. When the table is set up high like that, I sew standing up. It's not bad... just a little more exercise.

Thanks for all the helpful hints everyone. I just need to set a timer, and get up every half hour and walk around!

A close call, QNS!
Jeanie all those pre op exercises paid off
Been playing catch up here this evening. My sis has been here since Sunday and left this afternoon. I feel compelled to do something our neighbors to the west of us. Nina I still have several bits of the horse fabric left and have made a couple of kits of a specific pattern with it. DSis and I got 2 of the tops sewn yesterday and today and I plan on sending some things to Nebraska. Will share as I get them completed. Okay now have to play catchup on things I haven't done while they were here.
