Happy Thanksgiving, Anne. So glad you had your knee done and now you can heal and sew again. I did enjoy your email. I am doing the Bible Sampler, but not the 1-2-3 order but the order she suggests for layout in queen size in her book. Again my blocks are telling the story...about the name of the block. Evening Star, Tree of life and Thunder and lightning I have finished. Along with 128 hour glass blocks that go between them.

After three months of suffering, dh will get his surgery done a week from today. Still trying to figure out how we get there and home and how to do the chores from Pella, Iowa. It will happen with the will of the Man above. Hopes and prayers that it will...one day at a time. Looks like we go up on Thursday and come home on Saturday. Don't know the town at all, so it will be an adventure for sure...one step at a time.

I was at the hospital w/#1DSis when the Dr came in this morning. He said that all of her trouble is the Staph Pneumonia. She does still have incursions & an abscess in her lung. He said that this can just destroy her lungs. If the paperwork goes through for her county assistance she will be able to go home & come back daily for the IV antibiotics. I did call her DD & asked her to go & check on the paperwork for that. The computer said that all the paper work isn't turned in as of yet. He also told her that he wanted her up & moving. She did get up & ate her breakfast but then wanted a nap as she didn't sleep well last night. I was gonna take her walking down the hall. I think #2DSis took her walking later in the day.
I took my younger DGSon's to the park today. I just love the 2 of 'em. I spent 2 hours at the park w/each of 'em separately. Yup, that meant I was at the park for 4 hours today. I am one tired puppy. It was wonderful though.

Bev, praying the antibiotics will kill that staph pneumonia! Sounds horrible. And it also sounds like this is the time for her to stop smoking, forever. Glad you got some good grandson time in! I remember once when my parents took me on an outing to the city to see the ballet... just me and not my sisters. I felt very special.

I hope everyone is on the mend...

QNS, do you have a picture of the fabric you used for the green/brown S&W quilt. I saw the pic in the Pictures forum, and wondered what it looked like. It looks like it made good designs. I need more education on what to choose for S&W. You seem to do a good job at it.

I am back home in Brady. DSis is doing so much better. If she can get her approved for County Assistance she will go home w/in the next couple of days. She will have to go back & get her IV antibiotic daily. If she can't get funded she will have to stay till she is funded. She hasn't been able to get a job in over 5 years. Her bad disks just keep her from being able to stay in any 1 place very long & most employers just don't want to deal w/someone w/a bad back. She applied for disability once but didn't follow up when she was turned down. The hospital is gonna help her apply again for it. The last 3 days have been a bit better for her. She is even getting up, sitting in the chairs almost all day & walking down the hall a bit a couple of times a day.

Dublb, your sister is lucky to have family that helps her. Prayers coming your way.

Givio, will try to find a piece of that Hibiscus fabric and photo it for you. Its the way the fabric repeats itself that mandates how you cut it up. And how you cut it up by layers. It is very time consuming and takes me a long time to make them....about three months total. Beth Reynolds book Magic Stack n Whack, the Good Morning Pattern is the one I have used about 7 times now. I always panic 'cause I do not think the border fits but it always does. Magic I guess. It is a love/hate relationship in me making it...and it gets put back again and again. Then I get mad at myself and take it out again.

Local quilt shop at Chariton Iowa latest ad says:"Starting Nov. 27th all regular priced merchandise will be 45% off. Fat
quarters are $1. There are other fabrics, books, and patterns marked down
more. Mon- Fri 10AM to 4:30PM Sat 10AM to 1:30PM.
Carol Trumbull The Sampler " One of my favorite shops to shop at; wonderful selection of good quilting fabric since she is a quilter herself. Will miss her shop.

Bev, good to hear that things are looking up for your sis. God is good!

So sorry to hear of another shop closing, QNS. I'm sure it's a lot of work and expense to have and run a shop. People do get tired of it. We have nearly nothing here. There's a good quilting shop in Vicksburg, about an hour away... but nothing much besides Joanns, closer.

#1DSis is going home!!!She got approved for at least the antibiotics both oral & IV. There is still some red tape for complete eligibility. Sigh, she has to go through this every month.
