I've been wearing double pants and double shirts in the house today, and still I can't get warm! We got about an inch of snow today. So pretty but so cold!

Jeanie it sure does help having a great hobby. I have been cutting all the pretty blocks that I find to see if I will need to get some more. I still sew some together, but maybe not the complete row until I see. I am making a queen size, but hubby likes it to hang over the sides a lot, so I will also probably have a wide sashing. I have made things mostly for others so this is for us, but more importantly for my hubby to have.

Bev, I hope you stay warm too.

Your right OK, I am so spoiled. I am a desert girl! I am also used to a house w/central heat. This wood burning stove is great for most of our winter days but this is the second really cold spell this winter. I am ready for spring. Notice I didn't say Summer. I am not fond of those triple digits either. I must say though I seem to handle those better'n these frigid temps.

I like a mild winter... 55 degrees is just about perfect.

We are watching the deer on the snow this morning. One big buck and two does.

The deer are such a pretty sight. But we have way too many of them around here. They gather in herds overwinter; sometimes as small as ten, others as large as 40-50. Throughout the growing year, they destroy corn and grains...farmers feed them so hunters can hunt them. No compensation for us. Seasoned hunters will tell you the venison tastes more like beef than in did in years past. One is ever watchful around daylight and dusk as they forage at those time of day...they will jump out of the ditch at any time. You get used to paying special attention to the places they frequent. When there's snow on the ground you can see where they habitually travel.

Okay off my soap box..today must get EOY stuff off to the accountant. But I want to sew.....

Since most of us are like the rest of us, Maybe God could move Hawaii weather here so we can enjoy without going there! So ready for Spring. Spring and fall temperatures I like best. About 72 degrees, thank you. But cannot go to Hawaii where that is the temperature average...the midwest has me spoiled 'cause we can drive miles and never see the ocean. It is fun to visit....but not to live there for me.

Deer are not my favorite animal any more....we need more deer hunters. More Iowans need to lease deer hunting out to the city folks who want to harvest them. Maybe, OK, that would be ideal for certain sections of your farm...with a guide along to make sure they don't shoot a cow for a deer! (Hundred dollars a day for the guide and three hundred for stepping on to your land! They buy out of state license for $350, buy expensive three to five thousand dollars for a fancy gun, so they will pay that!) We drive verrrrry slow through Blue Bird Valley where the deer hit our GMC car and totaled it. It has been a huge struggle to right that and get all the medical stuff together and working out the budget to get through all the financial figures of it all. Beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, just maybe.

Cleaning on QR again. Wonder who makes it such a mess....when I like things tidy??? Must be my invisible twin self digging out that stuff. Some day it might just be neat. Always have too many scraps lying around mixed in with paper work and those patterns I pulled to use or cleaning out another corner I want to reorganize a different way. Now I will set my hands to work and quit complaining and try to smile the rest of this day.
