I got about a quarter of a quart bag so I will add to it when I pick again. I'm doing that in the mornings before I start working on sewing machines.
Bev, I shred the bigger yellow summer squash and put a cup in a small snack size bag, then put them all in a larger zip lock. When making stew or even chili, I add a bag to the soup..added veggies that meld into the soup..I have one bag left and about a month before the yellow squash will be ready.
I've been freezing asparagus..have about 5 more bags to do tonight yet. I make a broth of the tough ends and freeze that for asparagus soup later. DIL's chicken love the discarded ends!
Tonight will put a huge crock pot of frozen canning meat on and will have cooked beef for beef and noodles, pulled beef sandwiches, beef gravy over mashed potatoes for when the "horde" moves in this weekend. Still making butter and always a supply of buttermilk. I;ve been using it in puddings. Yesterday made tapioca pudding. Ready to pull 2 vanilla custards out of the oven. The freezers are getting empty and took a quick inventory of food before I go to the grocery store tomorrow. Pleasant surprise when I found several bags of corn...I thought they were almost all gone. #2 GS will be tickled as he loves our frozen corn!
Not getting any sewing done here, but at work I'm making a basket quilt. 20 6" pieced baskets with 2 borders with corner stones around each basket. Working on the last of the borders now. Hope I can get them ready to put together by tomorrow. Using fabrics from Kim Diehl's Blush and Blue line. Bev I think you were using some of this in some blocks.

I like Kim Diehl's fabrics. :-)
You girls are going to town on fresh produce! We usually get cold (freezing) weather in late Spring, so the rule is to wait to plant outdoors until Memorial Day. It makes crops come late in our gardens.
I've been sewing a center for our Round Robin. I plan to mail it to SBG this weekend.

Jeanie--I haven't been on the boards for awhile...stopped getting notifications again. I just saw your two medallion quilts. They are beautiful! Are these patterns you can buy or were they just quilt-alongs?

Speaking of Medallion quilts, did you all see that Laurie Aaron Hird came out with a new FW quilt book? It is called FW Homestead Medallion Quilt. I just got it in the mail. I am thinking it is a good excuse to buy more KT fabrics (my family calls them "Carrie fabrics" and they match my LR colors). I am planning to make the lap-size quilt plus some blocks on two ends because I like a rectangle quilt more than a square one for a lap quilt.

Givio I am bummed I missed out on the Round Robin...is that something you guys are doing in this group? Will you be posting pictures as it goes or is the end project a surprise?

I haven't done a lot of sewing lately. I've had some issues w/migraines and trying to find a dose/med that will work again. Thankfully I haven't been having daily migraines for about a month now (did pretty regularly in March/April), but the side effects from the 2 things I've tried haven't been good. I will be getting something new today so hope that this one is it. I'll only have to get an injection 1/month so that will be different.

I did finally get the t-shirt quilt done that I was hired to make for a graduation gift. It uses the girl's dance t-shirts. Last week I started making some cards so that has been a fun change. I pieced it and did the binding, someone else did the quilting on a long-arm. I tried to upload pics but it says a "security token was missing"...I know there were some changes for uploading pictures a while back but I don't have time now to find that info. Maybe this afternoon.

I hope all are doing well. I tried to catch up on posts since Feb but didn't get through them all yet. Big Hugs to all!!

Nice to hear from you, Carrie. Wow... a new Laurie Hird book! Will have to look that up. I am in the process of quilting my FW30's quilt. So happy to have it put together!

We are just starting the Round Robin. It will probably be a 5-6 month project. I would love to do another one if this one goes well. We can let you know.

Don't be a stranger!

It is a Bonnie Hunter design and is still free on her blog, however I expect her to take it down any time now and put up for sale. So be sure to download all the steps right away. She did this because of the virus, and it was really a different approach. Here is the link: https://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/un...ilt-along.html

I have been working on a serger for the last few days. I am now trying to get the tension adjusted. I forgot that I had the tension assembly's backwards in my hand so instead of tightening 'em I was loosening 'em. OH, the joy's of machine repair. Just ya'll don't think I hate it I thought I'd let ya know that I find myself humming & singing to my self while I am working on 'em.

carriem, They say that headaches are a side effect of wearing the mask over a long period of time. If you just began the headaches during the coronavirus situation, and wear a mask daily-- like 8 hours at a place of work-- then maybe that is part of your headache problem? That's what happens to me at work, headaches. When I leave work, and on weekends, I don't get the headaches. I take in too much of my own carbon dioxide. I also get dizzy and light headed from the mask.

The RR is in the other forum called 'Member Swaps and Round/Row Robins', not here. Check out SBG's, Maryb119's and my centers. Those are the pictures there to date. We will be posting pictures there for the rounds, lots, I hope! Yes, remember to ask SBG and I about doing another RR when December rolls around. This one will be done then, and maybe we can start another? It's nice to see you chat again.

dublb, "Whistle while you work" is what you made me think of. :-)

Our local wild blackberries are still bright red, so it will be several weeks before they are ready to pick. We love them! We just gobble up what we pick. Once in a great while there may be enough to pick for a jar of jam. 🤗

SBG--I have blocks yet to make for my FW 30s quilt...I thought I was done (just planning to make a wall quilt for my craft room) but then my daughter said she would like it for a bed quilt, so that means lots more blocks to make! I do a few then work on something else for a while.

Jeanie--I got the pattern downloaded...thanks! Not that I really need another pattern/quilt to make, but maybe one of these days.

Givio--Thanks for the info on the RR thread...I have it saved so I can follow along. Sorry you are suffering with headaches from the mask. Mine are migraines that started nearly 17 years ago...I have had to take something daily for about that long as well as have something stronger to take on the really bad days. For many years I was able to take the same med, they just had to increase the dose little by little over the years. Well this time the dose was too high/gave me side effects I'd never had before and even when I went back to the other dose the side effects didn't go away. The dr gave me a new prescription that caused my heart to race, gave me insomnia as well as a few other things...but my headaches were better so I took it a little longer thinking the side effects might go away. Instead they got worse so this week I am weaning off that one and started a new one today. This is one I've never taken so Lord willing it works!!

I figured out how to get pics posted, here is the t-shirt quilt. These aren't my favorite to make, but they are pretty easy and good money to make for other people.
