I love them Jeanie. Of course tourquoise is my favorite color. Love the butterfly. I can't believe I'm the only one who couldn't do #78. Oh well.....

Hey, all of your blocks are beautiful, you just won't use that one! I have several left over that I did not use in the one I am quilting.

Violet, your block is so pretty!

Jeanie, I love the colors you chose for your blocks! Block 79 wasn't really easy for me either...they look good!

Well, I took a picture of Block 78 rather than scan, since my computer and scanner aren't working. This was not a good block for me. I lost the original scan, so this one has already been quilted chalk marks not washed out yet.

Very nice Violet-love the colors. I'm glad you left the chalk lines on--it helps me to see the quilting. I'm slowly quilting some of mine so seeing yours gives me ideas on how to quilt them. Thanks!

I forgot to post the one block I did manage to get done for this week. All of you are doing such a great job with the colors and getting them done on time. I compliment all of you   :P

And here are my blocks. Sawtooth was so nice and easy; and I love how it turned out.

Then there was Shooting Star. I do paper piecing. I don't know whether it made this block easier or harder. I saw JanRN's attempt! Poor Jan. I was so ready to throw the thing in the trash. Shooting is an apt name--I was either me or the block. Arghhh! Then all of a sudden I got mad! I wasn't going to let this thing win!! So here it is. It has several pieces of tape on it (from sewing the same seam over and over). It has glue in it. I needed to hold a piece of fabric in place while I pinned another piece to it. I hammered it, which made my husband come running. I told him it was a time-honored quilting technique. I ironed the seams open then pounded on the lump with my hammer. And it worked too! I even hand stitched part of it, until I realized that the technique I had used allowed me to machine sew it in the end.

The day started with a migraine. I stayed in bed until noon, trying to sleep it off (with the help of my good migraine drugs). I finally got up and after an hour, I started quilting at one p.m. with the migraine only at low roar. The migraine went away around 4 p.m. I finished at 7 p.m. Except for half an hour to run to the pharmacy and half an hour to feed when my blood sugar dropped, I got it all finished in one day. Ta da!

You'd think the silly thing would have given me a migraine...was definitely a backwards process.

I admire all of you who accomplished #78...I'm sure we all have battle scars. I will Never Ever make that block again. Can you imagine making a whole quilt?

QNonnie ... Looks you "nailed" it in the end! Good idea on the hammer technique.
I haven't tackled this block yet, though I will admit that the awkward ones I have been PPing and it seems to have let them come out easier in the end. We'll see when I get there.

To the Early Birds .... Great work! Some lovelies there indeed.

JanRN ... good job on including Patches in the quilt, and for sharing his/her bandana corner for her/his block!

Alas! here's my
#77 ... Seasons ... isn't it nice when we get a simple one to do, amidst the troublesome blocks?
and
#78 ... Shooting Star ... Congratulations! to those who did this non-PP. I can't even imagine your doing it without. Well done Ladies!

JanRN ... I still smile every time I see your Patches, and have joyful memories of my Zammy!

QuiltE, Another two gorgeous blocks! You're getting along quickly. I'm so glad we're doing this at the same time. I loved the camaraderie when I was doing the blocks with the group. Now I feel good that we are keeping each other company. Although I have less left to make, looks like you and I will probably finish close together.
