I'm so excited to get my fabrics so I can start this. When I started quilting I saw a beautiful Baltimore style quilt that our guild ladies did for the opportunity quilt, and I thought "I will NEVER be able to do something like that". But if I do machine applique I should be fine and get through this.

What do we use the brown fat quarter for? is that suppose to be for our vases? I need a bit of help with that one. I was looking at the picture but it's hard to determine (by my tired eyes anyway) if the vase is gold or brown, etc. Can you take a little time out to tell us what the golds and browns were used in?
I'd appreciate it.
I'm trying to figure out what colors for what so I can play with EQ7 since I scanned in my fabric.

The Brown, some flower centers, and for instance, in this block you could do the stems for the berries in brown.

I do pull my applique stitches tightly into the background, but because the background fabric is loose, it won't pucker.

The other way is to use black buttonhole throught, for a folk art look.
Either way is beautiful, just depends on what you like.
