Pam, it will get easier the more you do (just like everything)! This one looks much better - congratulations!

I do love paper piecing! Pam -- great job! Your 1/4" and seam matching are perfect! If you turn the second row across around, you'll have a star.

Thanks! I am enjoying this quite a bit and I have learned so much already. Can't wait to get to the first one but until my fabric is delivered I will just keep practicing.

Pam, your block looks good! I think katybob is right; that second row looks like it's attached upside down in your sample. It's so easy to do that, especially when the block doesn't form a "picture" that your brain recognizes. I'm definitely going to have to take it slow and easy with many of these blocks, and double check before I sew!

HaHaHa! That is too funny. I didn't even notice that yesterday, not even after Katybob said it! And that is section I had to take apart 3 times too! Well now I know I have to pay much closer attention to that part of the process. Thanks CookyIN and katybob!

Lots of improvement, Pam--yes, it does help to practice and I like Jeanie's suggestion of basting the sections together before the final construction. To prevent "flipping" or misaligning sections, before sewing the sections together it helps if you lay out your block fabric side down first following the construction instructions on the pattern. This way you can see the letters on the paper. If I try laying it out fabric side up the pieces don't always end up where they're supposed to be. And of course I don't notice it until everything is sewn together LOL.

Thanks janRn, the funniest thing to me was I laid it next to the other block and never saw the difference! That is a good idea because I referenced the block diagram a lot during the piecing.

Jan's flip folder idea would be a big help with less confusion....

I stayed up late last nite watching that stupid Pawn Shop TV show and this morning I feel like a wet dishrag...can't seem to get going even after 2 cups of coffee...arghhhh!

I know the feeling, Honchey...except I was sewing until after 1:00am. You're not going to believe this but am PP a Flying Geese strip 1x1/2"...and who doesn't like to PP?

Pam..keep up the good work..the learned quilters on this thread are knowledgeable because of experience, and offer great advice for you to become better. Sometimes tips will work for you, but don't be disheartened when they don't. We all experience the process in our own way. PS I hated PP before the FWS PC quilt...although I'm still not excited about it I do use it if the project fits.

Best of luck everyone...time's a ticking.

Thanks everyone, I really do appreciate all the knowledge and sharing. Honchey, should we be ready to show the first two blocks on Aug 4th?
