Don't let the software stop you. I quilted on my Jane a year without any software. Then another year till I used it. My frist hundred was done by hand. Good way to use up material you have.

I have never done paper piecing. Could someone recommend the best tute on the site or the best tute in general for me to learn? I am still waiting for my software and hope to have before I go away for New Years so I can start playing,

Klue
As the time gets closer I thought I would ask this question. How do you want the week's work posted, all of them after they are completed or as we finish one post it then post the next, etc. I'm leaning towards posting once I have them all completed. It would be more compact that way. I will do it which ever way you want it.

I don't understand this - what are you making? I've looked all through the quotes and nowhere is there a picture or description of what your doing

Hi, the idea is to make our own copy of the 'Dear Jane' quilt made during the American Civil War, along with the others on the board, we keep our own blocks and at the end of 15 months we will each have a lovely quilt to keep. As for pictures, you can either type in 'Dear Jane Quilt' on Google or go back to page 1 of the topic and work through where people have put theirs on. It would be great if you joined! I haven't started yet but have got my machine and fabric all ready!

Klue is also planning on having tutorials going each week, for some of the more difficult blocks. Various other people will be doing tutorials along the way as well. For some blocks, some people may piece it while someone else might applique it, or paper piece, there's no fixed rule on how to put a block together .
