i believe "that quilt" blog used to have a much different name until brenda shut her down.

I was agreeing with you, Klue...sorry for the confusion.

i didn't think you were but i was getting so confused and not sure if i upset you.

i didn't think i said anything bad about that quilt so i was just very mixed up and wanted to clarify it.

well then this is going to burst your brain.

these are the jane blocks (and others) done in diamonds instead of squares (like squares are so easy).

Oh my gosh, isn't that enough to bust your buttons! Some people are so creative and ambitious!!! Beautiful though!!

From what I understand she thinks Brenda has some nerve to claim any kind of "rights" to the designs in the Jane Stickle quilt, because they are not her (Brenda's) original works, but rather an interpretation of Jane Stickle's.

That's my understanding, anyway.

yes, and brenda doesn't own the patterns just the trademark on the name.

thats why "that quilt" and this forum can post pics of the patterns.

you're just not allowed to make an income of the Dear Jane name that belongs to brenda.

Thank you for posting this. I'm putting together my supplies for the next motor home trip to Florida coming up. I'm not going to keep up with you-all but hope to finish some and post from time to time.

will you be hand stitching or do you travel with your sewing machine

dakotamaid 01-14-2010 05:40 PM

I travel with my featherweight! She is a little workhorse and doesn't mind the bumps in the road. I combine with hand piecing where needed and also do counted cross stitch, needlepoint and reading. I get bored easily or have ADHD, not sure which!!!!!

wow, you are one talented lady.

i've always wondered how people manage on the road with a machine.

last year DH and i did a road trip to memphis and all the cats came with us.

i just loved being on the road like that and have mentioned a few times that i'd like to get an RV.

i always get depressed when i can't sew. i've been sewing 6 days a week every week for the last 8 years.

Has anyone came up with an iron that is battery or propane like the hair curling iron. Seams I'm all set but that when I take my hand work.

Wouldn't that be awesome!

We have a family holiday home (bach) on the coast and go out quite regularly for a break. It has no power, no internet, no phones, it's great! I take my hand sewing, and a few magazines, and just relax. I could quite easily take my treadle machine out there, but with no iron there's not much point.
