1 January 2012 BOM pattern & discussion.
Happy New Year Everyone!! :D
My choice for January 2012 BOM is called Snowblossom's from Quilter'sCache.com. I hope everyone enjoys making their block as much as I did making mine. It reminds me of a snowflake & we always have snow in WA during the winter. Enjoy & please remember to post pictures of your blocks when you have finished them. Thank you for joining in on the FUN!! :D :D :D :D http://www.quilterscache.com/S/SnowblossomsBlock.html |

I'm sorry, but what is the BOM theme for this year?

Nice block and it's my very first snowflake! Happy New Year everyone! It's printed out and I can't wait to get started!
|
Looks like a great block, Sulabug. Thanks.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year's eve and has a wonderful year. |
Happy New Year everyone.
I printed the pattern.......now off to my fabric stash. |
Man you guys are fast. I just got the templates printed. Pretty block Sulabug. Happy quilting to all. :D: BrendaK

Very pretty block Sulabug...will get started as soon as time permits! Still have to do December's Star from 2011! Have all the rest done though, so I'll have a wonderful Star quilt to show for it!
|
Thank you everyone for the kind comments about this block for January. I thought it was such a pretty block & a very easy paper pieced block for everyone to get started on. I am so looking forward to the months to come. I hope everyone has FUN!!
:D :D :D :D |
thanks, sulabug, I was able to find the thread and block.

I forgot it was the 1st and we get the first block! Yea! To begin...thanks SulaBug!
|
I'm a little late but I have found you Sulabug.
Lovely block - I have to smile about the name though - it's hitting 100F. here at present so won't be sewing today. |
This is great. Very pretty block. This BOM project fits right in with my new years resolution to do more quilting this year. This will be my first paper pieced block. Can't wait for everyone to get out of bed so I can get to my qr and get started.
|
Think I might join along this year.
|
Thank you for the pretty block. Taking the tree down then will pick my fabric.
|
Love the block! I have never attempted paper piecing before, so here goes....
|
Sulabug,I have printed the pattern but the instruction page won't let me print it.How do I print it? Mary
|
Thank you for the photo of the block. I believe that I will join in on this one.
|
Hi, Sulabug,
I've never done a BOM before but I think this is a good one to start on. Thanks for doing this. Mossie |
thanks for posting this very pretty block, I have very little time but one block a month should be doable.

Count me in too. I have never paper pieced before so this will be interesting. A new learning skill. Yeah. It is a pretty block. I have to decide which way I am going with this.
|
I printed everything out, but the paper piecing templates printed out small. Do I enlarge them? How much? The typing at the top of the page says scaled 55%. Is that the way it is supposed to be? Sorry for being stupid but I have never paper pieced before!
|
I had trouble too. I finally double clicked on the file and it brought up Paint. These are usually pdf files, but this one is a GIF. I had to change it to 100% in Paint and it printed perfectly. Very frustrating I know! Hope this helps.
|
beautiful choice! I have 3 copies of the pattern printed off already and can't wait to get started! this will be my first PP project! I'm soooo ecxited!!!!!!
|
I started PP not to long ago. When I copy a pattern i aways do an extra copy so if I want to make more later I have a set to copy. Then I don't have to hunt them up online.lol

Thanks for leading me to the thread with the block pattern, Deecee. Do you have any hints as to how I can find them each month?

there must be TWO different topics for 2012 BOM....I thought we were doing STARS??
|
Jacquie 2012's theme is Calendar - something relative to each month.
Last year one of the BOM's was Stars. If you are looking for star patterns you could still get them from the BOM index page. |
Jacquie, there are two Block topics, this is a BOM and the one with the stars is a BOW 50 Fabulous Stars by Carol Doak.
|
Sorry - I forgot to mention Carol Doaks 50 Fab Stars. For this one you need to either purchase the book or buy the on-line download of the patterns.
If you are after free patterns - try last year's star BOM (15th of each month). |
I hope that everyone is finding the answer's to all of the question's they have. This is a fairly easy paper pieceing pattern & I thought it would be a good start for the year. Keep on sewing & having fun. I will be anxiously waiting to see all of the pictures of your finished block's!!
