Tomara and Delphinia - make sure and go to my post #225 for corrections on cutting and making this unit. Sorry for the confusion. HSTs will be 2" square and sewn to a 2" light square. Yes, the unit will be 2 x 3.5"

Delphinia HST is a half square triangle.

The Instructions were on post #255 and they are not updated. I thought you would want to know Judy.

I used my Accu Quilt cutter. Got smarter when nearly done to put my light snd dark together then cut. That way i did not have to take the extra step to match them. Also did not have to trim or size. How i got done quickly.

paintmejudy 01-23-2017 07:42 AM

Delphina and Tomara looks good to me!

Tlambing very pretty

Delphina 01-23-2017 09:23 AM

That makes me happy . It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

lawsonmugs 01-23-2017 11:16 AM

Tomara pretty and I hope they're right too. I made mine the same. lol Teresa pretty what will both of you ladies be using for the medium?

Tomara 01-23-2017 05:17 PM

I am using the dark peach as my medium and the paisley is my dark. Thank you

Like QuilterMomma, I am thankful to have a die cutting machine. However, I didn't read the label correctly the first time and ended up with 28 HST's of the wrong size. Oh, well! So much for my rule of cut, sew, and measure one first. :)

Here are my clue 2 pics:

What happens if you made your hst with your medium instead of your dark? Yeah, after all said and done, I just realized I did as such.

lawsonmugs 01-24-2017 08:33 AM

Beth, I don't know what happens but it sure is pretty.

jclinganrey 01-24-2017 10:02 AM

QM - I like your light fabric. Very pretty.

paintmejudy 01-24-2017 11:04 AM

Quilter mom - don't stress, it will turn out ok, honest! One part will have a slightly different look, that's all.

Oksewnsew 01-24-2017 12:50 PM

I have all my 2 x 3 1/2" blocks completed..Whew, I don't do well with itty bitty blocks...lolo Anxious to see where this mystery is going.. ;o) Sure have been some pretty combos here.

jmoore 01-24-2017 01:02 PM

When we have completed our 48 - 2 x 3 1/2 inch rectangles, does it matter in which direction we press our seams? I have looked all over since post 255 but cannot find any mention.

QuilterMomma 01-24-2017 04:21 PM

Will not make new ones then.
Thank you for the compliments on my fabrics. I sure like them. Maybe that is why I made the mistake, was so excited to use the red that I just grabbed it first. At least the size is right.

kathryn7887 01-24-2017 04:23 PM

ok I need help. I made the hst and squared them to 2.5. but do I need to square them to 2 inches instead. I have read the posts but I'm lost.
thank you.

Yes, you will need to square them to 2 inches so they match up to the Light 2 inch squares...once sewn this will give you a 2" x 3 1/2" rectangle... but don't forget that 24 have hsts in one direction and the other 24 have hsts in another direction. I'm just waiting to hear if we are to press in a certain direction. : )

kathryn7887 01-24-2017 04:50 PM

oh thank you jmoore,
my new project for when I get home from work.

LavenderBlue 01-24-2017 04:52 PM

I believe I read that we are to press toward the light.

I think I pressed to the light, but don't remember. You might want to wait until you put them in place. I can't remember how I pressed and I have it quilted so can't double check. Sorry.

moonrise 01-25-2017 01:54 AM

I'll get caught up on mine ASAP. Sick with the crud. :(

paintmejudy 01-25-2017 06:53 AM

Oh, Moonrise, so sorry - hope you feel better soon.

OK so, now that I've finished my BH En Provence top, I'm free to jump on the train without any feelings of guilt!

So here's my two options for fabric. Picked up in the sales at 50% off, so even more guilt-free .

Not sure which way to jump yet. I really like the first option, but it might be a bit nippit for fabric, whilst I'd have loads left over with the second option. Decisions, decisions, :D.

Must start the MOB diet (Mother of Bride) so I'm putting veggie tray in the club car!!

lawsonmugs 01-25-2017 11:35 AM

Siodach, those are very pretty. I like the 2 darks in the second picture with the light from the first. My computer may not show the right colors but they look good on here. Dotty, thanks I love veggies. I'll put some decafe ice tea in there with some fat free greek yogert.

Delphina 01-25-2017 11:55 AM

I like the red and the black --I would use the white with it.

paintmejudy 01-25-2017 03:02 PM

siodach I am partial to the top photo. Send me a PM with the one you have the least of, I'll let you know if you can squeeze it out!

kathryn7887 01-25-2017 04:40 PM

I've begun! Better late than never, supposedly. We have had 4 deaths in 5 days. Only one relative, but friends and a son of a friend. This is helping me calm down and concentrate on something other than grimness. Right now, I'll just do a few of clue 1 and 2. Love the color combos that others are posting. Sorry the photo is so large. GRRRR!

retiredteacher09 01-26-2017 08:24 PM

Coopah: Very nice 4 patches.
My deepest sympathies on your losses. I can't imagine losing 4 people in 5 days.
