Judy, I just realized I made clue 3 with my med and light instead of the dark. Will they still work or do I need to remake then?

paintmejudy 01-30-2017 07:23 AM

unfortunately, yes. Do you have enough fabric to do so? PM if you don't. Don't discard the medium square, you will be able to use it next week.

Tomara 01-30-2017 09:25 AM

yes I have enough thank you

If you cut the strips correctly, you have used more than a 1/4" seam. Double check the width of the strips. If good, re-do the seams. Make sure they are a hair less than 1/4" seams.

paintmejudy 01-30-2017 12:28 PM

Tomara I like your block, and so glad you have enough fabric to re-make clue 3.

tlambing 01-30-2017 12:55 PM

I had that trouble too Delphina. It been a good refresher on double checking my 1/4 inch seam. Thanks Judy :)

Delphina 01-30-2017 02:16 PM

This was hard for me

I had a lot of trouble. I did manage to make one block and it isn't 12 1/2" sq But I am OK with that. The next 5 will be the same size so it should be fine. This is a little hard for me. I don't want to get to frustrated so I am going to just chug chug choo choo along. Here is my block --5 more to make. Tomorrow is another day.

frustrated I like your big block and with that green, the quilt will be beautiful.

Here are my big blocks placed on the medium print. I hope I like the finished design - I'm very anxious to get the green involved to add some excitement.

LavenderBlue 01-30-2017 06:14 PM

Carol, what a gorgeous color combo!

paintmejudy 01-30-2017 06:29 PM

Carol this will be an eye-stopper. Someone, I don't remember if it was you, asked if her darker fabric could be switched to the "light" position, and I said yes, it will add drama. Well, you have a whole lot of drama going on here, and I think you are going to love when you see the finish will be!

Roma Bauder 01-30-2017 08:11 PM

I will not be here for the rest of the MQ  We are leaving on a Panama Cruise . I will pic it up after I get back.

Moonrise...your choices show why having the blues can be a good thing! And Carol, I agree I am anxious to get the medium involved. My medium is where the drama is, as is the case with your lovely fabrics.

paintmejudy 01-31-2017 08:11 AM

Thank you. LOL I need help , I can't even figure out how to add a smiley

Carol in WI 01-31-2017 11:01 AM

Judy, thank you for the nice comment and confirmation about the outcome. I was starting to think it might look rather bland. I'm so anxious for Saturday's edition. Thank you for all the work involved in making this train ride so much fun. I just put some warm apple crisp in the dining car.

pewa88 01-31-2017 11:16 AM

Love seeing all these pretty blocks. I was not able to join in this time like I had planned. DH had to have emergency bypass surgery and this really turned our world upside down. Just a season and I sure want to hop on board next time.
