Enjoying keeping up with everyones progress. We are driving up to northern Minnesota to see my Dad for his 81st birthday. Stopped in Paducah to see the National Quilt museum. WOW!!! Was fascinated by the miniature quilt display...really made our Dear Jane blocks look Big!
My husband (bless his heart) walked up to the two ladies working inside the exhibit hall and asked to see the Dear Jane quilt. At least he is interested enough to ask. Stopped in a local quilt shop while there and picked up a few more pieces of fabric for my DJ. |

Happy Bday to your father. I went to San Diego in Feb to celebrate my father's 82! Safe travels. |
In fairness to all DH's everywhere - mine would probably have asked if there were any DJs in the show. We had an "abbreviated" one at our local guild show and the International show in Long Beach had one as well... even though Jane's hangs 3000 miles away from us :)
I may have to start doing lots of hand sewing on it ... machine has been at repairs :( the tension was going nuts again while I was quilting my grandson's quilt - or trying to. After un-quilting an entire lapquilt last year I wasn't about to do that one again! I will at least check the schedule to see if I have any tips on how to do others differently. happy sewing! Gus |

Chay, here on the QB, was offering up some of her orphan Dear Jane blocks. I was the lucky recipient. I needed a very light summer cover-up/jacket to take on my vacation, so I came up with this:

Nancy: what a wonderful idea!! Turned out great.

Nancy. That turned out great! I bet that was a good conversation starter like you said.

does anyone know the major difference between eq 6 and 7 trying to decide if i need to upgrade

Nancy, what a great idea. I need a light weight cover up because most of today's dresses are sleeveless and at my age I try to cover up the upper arm. I am still working v-e-r-y slowly on my AOTH quilt borders. I did manage to make 2 blocks for DJ but I will wait to post until I finish the 3rd block. I am about 6 months behind. We are leaving on 9/16 to fly to Moscow and then take a river boat cruise to St. Petersburg. I'm trying to get ready for that trip and I want to make Halloween costumes for my 3 DGGC. I have the pattern, fabric and all of the notions. I just need the time to work on them. I am keeping up to date with everyone's work and it is so beautiful. It keeps me inspired to get back to work on mine.
