Finished my first block last night. Not sure how pleased I am w/the embroidery . I decided to add Kreinek(sp) Blending Filament to give it some sparkle. If you have ever worked w/the stuff you know what a beast it can be. I'm hoping my blocks just get better from here - I figure I can always go back and redo this one if I want later on.
for better or worse - here'smy back |
Lovely block and yes those filament threads are not easy to work with.

Chris, I love your block..are you going to use different embroidery colors?
I have been thinking about changing some to another color. |
Thanks for the compliments ladies!
Roxanne, Yes - I have a large variety of DMC floss as I used to be a counted cross-stitch addict before I got back into quilting. I will be trying to match the embroidery to at least one of the fabric colors in each block. |
Very, very pretty, Chris. Love your colors.

Chris, that block is really lovely! It does sparkle with that thread. The Razzle Dazzle is a PITA too...but well worth fooling with it. I'm using a couple of different embroidery thread colors too.

BEautiful block. Is that hand embroidery embellishment on your block. It's just great.

Beautiful Block, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliments , ladies!! Yes, the embroidery is done by hand. I don't have enough confidence to do the embroidery on my machine even though I have a great machine. I have to say the block looks better to me on the computer than I thought it did in person. When I went back and looked at it again , I was pretty pleased with it for a first attempt. I can't wait to see everyone elses blocks!

No one will see the back so don't worry about it... |
