Farmhouse block from Quilter's Cache:

http://www.quilterscache.com/F/FarmhouseBlock.html

pab58 01-31-2011 07:20 PM

I can't get any pictures of the block to show up. There are "Xs" in the boxes where pictures should be. When I click on the template link, it reads that the file can't be found. What do I do? :?

I went to their website. Is this the block you have selected?

are you all getting a 10" block?

pab58 01-31-2011 07:33 PM

Don't worry. I think we figured it out. You can just post the direct link to it. ;) http://www.quilterscache.com/F/FarmhouseBlock.html

Now.........let my peanut brain start to figure this one out!! Let's see........because my "village" will be in the winter season my farmhouse will have snow on the roof and ground. The tree will be bare except for a bright red cardinal sitting among its branches! Perhaps I'll have to include a snowman in the yard. Oh, oh, oh, I'll have to put up some Christmas decorations on the house!!!!! This is going to be another fun one!!!! Thanks so much letsquilt!!!!! It will be a nice addition to my "village" of Beaver Valley! ;)

Yep. According to the web site, it is 10". I'll just add to it, or I might just keep it at 10" to have a bit of variety among the blocks. ;)

letsquilt 01-31-2011 07:38 PM

I hope we all have fun with this one!!!!Pab58 yours already sounds real cute.

Well, you know what I will be doing on Wednesday!! That is, AFTER I dig out from the blizzard that we're getting!!! I know I will get at least one snowday out of this one -- perhaps two -- so I'm hoping to get started right away!!! Perhaps the snow will inspire me!!!! Either that or it will kill me!! :?

candi 01-31-2011 07:47 PM

Awesome choice! I love it!
I am not even going to attempt to print tonight, tomorrow is another day.

quilts4fun 01-31-2011 08:16 PM

Great block. I can't wait to get started.

PKWard 01-31-2011 08:16 PM

Having trouble with Templates A & B...only C is correct size. Anyone else? I keep trying to adjust size, but I can't get it to stay when I print. :(

Love the house though!!!

roseOfsharon 01-31-2011 08:23 PM

Ok, I have it printed out ( two copies of templates!) This looks like it will take me a month to do! Egads~~~ :)

PKWard 01-31-2011 08:43 PM

My husband fixed it, so I have it printed off correctly! Yay!

This is the same farm house that I looked at the other day and was hoping it would be chosen for Feb. That same day I printed it out as A130, B143 and C111. Tonight I wanted another copy (just in case) and when I went to print it I had to go down one number on A and B. I have no clue why printers do not do what I want them to do. I worked at the printing until I could measure up and down using pieces from each template and come up with 10 inches.

patricej 01-31-2011 11:54 PM

if you are printing from Internet Explorer, follow these steps to make sure each page prints to the same scale:

BizzieLizzie 02-01-2011 12:07 AM

Beautiful block! Thanks for choosing it. I am going to enjoy this one for sure!

I have printed the patterns but no matter what I do, the end of the page seems to get chopped off. I have tried selecting that portion of the pattern only but the same thing happens again. Has anyone any ideas please? Otherwise, I'll have to get paper and pencil out!

SulaBug 02-01-2011 12:08 AM

Thank you PatriceJ for all of the wonderful help, that you offer to all of us, to help figure out how to make these pattern's work!! You are much Appreciated!!
:D :D :D :D

Deecee 02-01-2011 12:36 AM

Love February's farmhouse.

I am using Internet Explorer and I do not have to make any adjustments to QuiltersCache patterns. I just make sure it is not set to "fit to page" or anything else, check the print preview and print.

When I check the print preview I make sure that it fits on either portrait or landscape before I print.

sandyl 02-01-2011 01:21 AM

OH my goodness, gorgeous farmhouse. If only I can get my brain working on PP again to do this one.

And how did he fix it? That we all can print it our correctly. Thank you :0)

meesabell 02-01-2011 03:27 AM

I'm in love with the look of this block! Also, I'm enjoying pp so far!

letsquilt 02-01-2011 04:33 AM

I printed mine from work and did not have any problems with it, Im sorry everyone is having trouble printing this. But as Sulabug knows Im technically challenged when it comes to computors!!Hope you all enjoy this when you get your patterns to print correctly. Im working on mine to get a picture posted soon.

Yooper32 02-01-2011 05:03 AM

I had to print each temp. A and each temp. B two times. Once in portrait mode and once in landscape mode and to be sure, I clicked on "borderless" in print preview. So, now I have to pick the ones in each mode that are printed complete and discard the ones that are only a partially printing.
Hope this makes sense to others.

hobbykat1955 02-01-2011 05:32 AM

Love the Block...Thanks ladies for posting the website got right into it.
Well as I watch more snow fall here in NY..I'll happily be up in the sewing rm going thru fabric to start my block.
Cant wait for everyone to start posting pictures.

helen31406 02-01-2011 05:35 AM

I downloaded the instructions at 2AM EST. I couldn't wait any longer to see the pattern. I love it!!!

Probably most of the houses on Quilter's Cache are paper pieced.

PKWard 02-01-2011 06:23 AM

I went and did this myself to make sure I could make it work:

1. Open template
2. On the bar at the top of your screen click on "File"
3. Go to "Page Set-Up"
4. Disable/turn off "Shrink to Fit"
5. Reduce margins...these are the margins we used: Left 0.5, Right 0.25, Top 0.5 and Bottom .25
6. "Print preview" to make sure everything is on the page. If not play with the margins a little more. Once you get that then print.

I hope this helps!!!
