Hi Susan, great to hear from you. I'm so sorry about all you have been through with your husband' medical ins. They ought to have notified you in writing before cutting him off! Hope those meds arrive soon.

Also sorry to hear your health probs are worse. But you are so right: God is in control! Take care of yourself and especially that foot! Whenever one of us has stepped on a nail, soaking the foot in iodine solution has kept any infection away and helped healing. The

dulbl, I bought the new LH book too. I just wanted to buy it simply to read the book. I'm not planning on doing the blocks (yes, SBG, more 6" ones) any time soon. I liked her CD format from the FWS book and thought it would be nice to get another CD like that again.

OK, your cleaning sounds refreshing! (pun intended) 35 people for potluck! That's quite a crowd. You will have fun. 5 flimisies, and 5 WIP... wow... is that all? lol

Susan, soaking in hot water with epsom salt helps draw out infection. Hoping things are looking up at your home soon.

JuneBillie good to hear from you.

MyOmy, I am behind times. No LH book yet for me. Good to know Givio and Dublb have theirs.

Dh threw his hip out yesterday and cannot hardly walk now, just by blowing the dust out of the garage with his leaf blower and twisting wrong. I had to shut up the ducks and chickens, walking over holes in the yard in the dark and had a terrible time, but lived through it. He is not much better today. His right leg will not hold him up. One step at a time today, will wait to see how the day progresses. Drat, we are too far from town, especially, when I don't drive. Lord, help us all.

Good FART trips planned end of March and the 7th of June, something to look forward too doing then.

Everyone have a good day.

sewbizgirl 02-22-2017 05:58 AM

QNS, hope some rest and maybe ice on his hip will help your hubby feel better. Hope he can walk soon. Sounds like it might be a disc moving around?

dublb 02-22-2017 07:04 AM

HUGGS QNS! I hope that your DH feels better real soon!
DH & I planted trees yesterday. 2 Chinquapin Oaks. It is a type that is supposed to grow well in our limestone filled dirt. Yup lotta rocks that had to be dug up.

I have a son-in-law that told me recently, "If I have my health, I can do anything!" He seemed so optimistic when he said it. And, my being old and arthritic, I wondered how he became so wise at his young age?
QNS, I hope your husband is feeling better soon!

Oh dear, QNS - so sorry to hear about your husband's hip. Maybe you can get a neighbor to get you into town to have an x-ray. I know an ambulance would be really expensive, as they charge by the mile.

QuiltingNinaSue 02-22-2017 03:16 PM

We pay an ambulance fee on our taxes and insurance pays the reminder. I know because I have been carried out of the house twice. Two too many times. He just twisted and moved things our of place; will see his Chiropractor tomorrow morning. He can now walk to the bathroom and back by himself. Thanks for all your kind words. I was so miserable last night shutting up the fowl birds because I could not see in the dark, did not know where he had put things that I could trlip over. Yep, he had a hose on the ground all the way out and beyond where I was going, with a curl in it that could have tripped me. I did not gather the eggs until this morning; three guineas were left out and was running around outside the shed this morning. But I survived and will again tonight and in the morning Tonight I will count the hens and guineas and ducks as best I can.

Jeanie, I hope those floods and rain are not affecting you in California. I keep telling people on face book I know some nice people in California and have relation there, too. I have a half-brother out there with four daughters...according to my ancestor chart. Haven't seen him since I was two years old and don['t care too now unless they search me out and come here. Not likely to happen. There is good and bad most places we have lived and that makes a normal life where you can choose your friends but stuck with family wherever you are in life.

No sewing today, I played 'Nurse' and 'Cook'. Made Oatmeal bread and soft cookies for dear dh. Serving him in his bedroom, running up and down the hallway. Last sunshine day up into the 70s again today. People are starting to garden planting peas and radishes. Very unusual for February here. Temperatures will continue to be in high 40s, 50s and some 60 degrees the next few weeks. Have a good week, everyone.

oksewglad 02-22-2017 04:03 PM

Sixty degrees here, too. Four windows and entry door clean...3 windows left...been going around the perimeter dusting off furniture while I go. Winter storm is coming through but staying to the north us. We could get 1 to 3" of snow...this morning I dropped recyclables up at the collection center...saw 2 swans fly over...not a common sight in our neck of the woods..back to cleaning...guess what? No sewing getting done!

givio 02-22-2017 06:32 PM

QNS, My husband puts the chickens in and out. He leaves things in the yard. I can identify with you-- I sure wouldn't want to put our hens in the shed in the dark after I got home from work. I'd fall over something for sure! After reading your message, I'm thankful again that he's doing that chore. They mostly go in all by themselves, but the door needs to be shut after them against predators. I don't mind opening the door in the morning when it's light out.

It's been warm here too, no winter jacket needed the last couple of days. I'm thinking about starting seeds.
