I didn't realize my ironing board could lower like that until one day I walked into the room and there was my son in law sitting down and ironing his shirts with the table lowered! Ha.

Love the stories about Mother's Day.

So glad Sewbizgirl you found delight in quilt shopping after your tests. The worst is the waiting; hoping they find a good solution to all the tests they took.

I have been trying to give DS another quilt, but unhappy with all my 'starts'... seem to drag along until I drop it for the next 'idea'...that might 'fit' him better. And then I think about his 18 or 19 cats and dogs in their home in Houston... and I think I chicken out on finishing a quilt and sending it to him...with that picture of cats and dogs lying on the quilt. I love cats and dogs, but not that many inside the home...thanks but no thanks. Then again I think, I promised him one... oh, dear. Sigh. Give and forget; what they do, they do.... yeah. He knows its bad 'cause he does not want me knocking at his door. Maybe I should.....

Have a good day! Celebrate the day, it will not come again in our lifetime.

QNS, make the quilt! If he wants one it's up to him to take care of it. Boy, I'd hate to have his veterinary bills! Heartworm and flea meds for that bunch would break the bank. Let alone food....

My doggie sleeps on my bed with me, so I can't have a pretty quilt on my bed. I have an old funky bedspread on top that can catch the dog hair and be washed.

You're right... waiting on test results is the worst. I have a colonoscopy on Friday so tomorrow is that 'wonderful' day of colon prep!

Tough night last night...had cramps around one knee, the opposite ankle, and calves of both legs...swallowed 2t of mustard in the middle of the night...usually does the trick...now lathered in Theragesic to relieve the residual soreness...hope it's a limited time occurrence.
Yes Honchey, M&T's....it's the only time I get to sew...I take a pass farming those days. I've been sewing table runners and then making kits for them this week. Seasonal type with applique...using machine blanket stitch. Playgroup kids come to visit the farm tomorrow...have lawn to mow...later

Sewbizgirl, I have had soooo many of those. . , I have lost count! All discomfort goes away within a couple of days. Both parents died of colon cancer. Brother and sisters of Father's also died of colon cancer. So have five of Aunt Lelia's 13 children. I took out cancer insurance while I was teaching and still carry it. Of the 13 cousins, just two were older than I am, so age does not seem to matter. It may or may not kill me, might be an accident in traffic or who knows???? so I refuse to be gloom about it. One step at a time or one day at a time. I choose to be upbeat and happy for today.

Find the problem, study what to do for the problem, then decide what to do with problem.

QNS you are an inspiration to me. Thank you for the things you say.

Good luck with your tests, SBG--I equate y-seams with a colonoscopy: a necessary evil. I'm still waiting for test results from some liver studies, too. My mother and 2 uncles died from non-alcoholic liver disease (ages 90, 77, & 76) so my doc ran some tests on me.

Givio, I missed your quilt--love it and all the colors you used.

QNS, you do so much you make me tired!! I've been cramming in some sewing before remodel project begins (who knows when?????) and I've encountered the pattern from hell! It's a pp wedding ring mini wall hanging. The pp sections are easy, just remember color placement. But putting it together requires an engineering degree!

OK, have you tried putting a bar of soap (any kind) under your bottom sheet down by your feet? Don't know why but it does help with leg and calf pain. My doc is a great believer in tried & true old wives' tales.

Ditto that! Thanks for your wise words.

Jan, hope your liver tests turn out well. I really don't mind the colonoscopy, it's the prep I hate. I can barely get all that mess down. And last time the "Go Lightly" drove my blood pressure up so high they told me never to take it again. So this time I'm doing a molotov cocktail of several laxatives plus gatorade! YUCK.

Gladdie, I have heard the soap under the bed remedy for leg cramps too. I have no idea how that can help, but several people have told me it does.

Hey y'all... I figured out that if I do 4 of the older blocks in the FW30's book every week, I will be all caught up to you by the time we finish the book. I'm up to the "C" blocks now.

Hey Guys! My DM is still in the hospital. She is doing so much better but they aren't letting her come home as of yet. The DR said that all her numbers are good except her kidney #s. They are inching up a tiny bit each day. He wants her to drink a lot today.

Good news to hear Bev....
Ok..Will try some soap, too...
Jan, maybe MrJanRN, can sew it:D:D:D
