QNS your hubby has a green thumb. How nice that he creates beauty. Mine only creates mayhem and destruction! He makes a good cup of tea tho, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Lovely flowers, QNS....I have dandelions.....Orioles are emptying their nectar feeders with hummers help, finches are chowing down the nyger seed, asparagus is finding its way to the dinner table. Sunday night had a bad frost..killed some of my tomato plants in my portable green house. Today's agenda...mow lawn, work in the garden, oh dear list is too long not sure if it will all get done...get my sewing fix at work, but it's not sewing for me......I'm going to enjoy the sunshine...have a great day every one...

Nina, I purchased some Peonies and are still in the bag with moss? and it says I can plant them in June at the latest..I want to plant them in NC..will that be too late? or should I plant them in a planter now and transfer them when I get to NC?

QuiltingNinaSue 05-18-2016 09:00 AM

Honchey, put them into a greenhouse 5 gal pot if you have one... or a pot about that size that will start them there, then move the pot and plant to NC. That will let it grown until you can pot it in NC Always leave it within a inch or two from the top, root side down. If you leave it in the plastic, you risk drying the root out so it will not grow. Just my two cent worth of advice. Love peonies...they were among the first things I planted here. Unfortunately, after they bloom, its just the greenery for the rest of the summer. I end up trimming them down in late July.

I am trying to get late summer plantings done to replace early bloomers in my perennial beds. I hope the Coral bells will bloom this summer. Love their leaf color. Meanwhile, the annuals of Marigolds and Cockscomb will serve to add color.

Here is a recent school picture of my great niece Jessica outside with her band class. She has now been in a medically induced coma for 15days on a respirator. All I knew was the double pneumonia, but it was written that she had that plus influenza, and staff.

Jessica is the one on the left.

So sorry she has to go through this Susan, and all of your family and friends too. Praying for you all.

Shes a precious girl, Susan. I hope they get everything taken care of and when she wakes up she won't remember any of this misery. Praying her body will be strong and will fight hard.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. She has her hair pulled back in the picture. She has pretty shoulder length hair. 🌻

JuneBillie - she is just darling. I am praying that she recovers completely! It is so hard when loved ones are in the hospital. It really wears you out going back and forth, and worrying!
